A Glowing Complexion with the Sleek Precious Metals Palette

Okay, so I bought this little beauty of a palette all the way back in December! I’ve been wanting to review it for weeks now but somehow I never did. But now that summer is coming up I think it’s the perfect time to review this! While I rarely use bronzer on a daily base I can hardly go a day without using highlighter! I’m a bit obsessed with highlighter to be honest! I just love how they add a nice, healthy glow to your face and brighten your complexion. Over the past month my collection go highlighter has grown quite immensely but I just love to test them all out. I can’t help myself. When I stumbled over this Sleek highlighting palette while I was in London I just immediately knew I had to have it.

Usually I have more champagne, rosy kind of highlighter because I prefer them over the colds months. While this palette does contain one champagne shade it also includes 3 more golden highlights, which I think will be perfect for the summer to chi eve that golden blowy sun-kissed look! Basically this palette contains 4 shades; 3 cream highlights and one powder and all three are absolutely gorgeous! As always I’ve got some swatches for you! Just look how pretty those colors are!

So you have Platinum, which is beautiful champaign color, which I love using in the inner corner of my eye or my brow bone. Next to Platinum there is Royal Gold, which is a stunning glittery gold shade. In the lower row on the left there is Renaissance Gold, which is lee glittery than Royal Gold and more of a bronzed gold. The final shade on the right, Antique Gold, is more of a copper shade and it’s also the only powder in this palette. Since Antique is a powered and quite dark you can even use it as a bronzer if you’re pale like me, as it really warms up complexion! The packaging does come with instructions on how to use which shade but I don’t really follow those to be honest.

What’s nice is that the palette comes with a relatively big mirror, which I always love because they can come in pretty handy if you’re traveling. It also includes a brush, which I’ve never used though. I either use my Zoeva creme cheek brush or my fingers to apply the cream shades, which works well for me. But I think when it comes to application and which shade you want to use for what it really comes down to what you prefer individually

IMG_4784

But to sum it all up I’m quite in love with this palette. I love how it offers more golden bronzed shades, because I don’t have any of those yet and they will be so nice once the sun comes out more and summer rolls around! If you want to achieve that golden shimmery summer glow I would definitely recommend this! The highlights are absolutely stunning and really easy to work with it.

Have you tried this palette yet? Are you highlighter obsessed as well?

Much love,

Sophie

Sleek Blush By 3 in Lace

IMG_2486

If you’ve seen my London make up haul you might recognize this little blush palette. You might also remember that I bought it by accident (I actually wanted a different one) and was a bit shocked by the bright colors because I didn’t expect them and I usually stick to might soft pinks and corrals when it comes to blush. But since I spent my money on this I thought I might as well just give it a go and see what happens and I have to admit I’m actually really glad I ended up with this palette.

IMG_2484

Sleek is quite known for their highly pigmented blushes and these are by far no exception, which scared me even more at first because these colors are so out of my comfort zone. So if you’re not familiar with the blush by 3 sleek palettes.. well basically you get 3 stunning and very pigmented blushes in a handy sleek looking little packaging, which is perfectly sized for on the go and traveling.

IMG_2483IMG_2489

Let’s start of with the first shade. It’s called Crochet and it’s a rather light but still very bright matte orange. I’m a lover of soft peachy shades but I’ve never tried a blush like Chrochet before. I always thought oranges would never suit my skin type as I’m quite pale. Nonetheless I’ve used this blush a few times now and I have to admit that I do like it although it’s not my favorite in this palette. The good thing about this blush is that you can really build it up, meaning that you can also make it look very subtle. I really like the way it warms up my complexion but I do think this would be an even better shade for anyone with a nice tan or if you have a darker skin complexion anyway.

Now on to the shade in the middle, which is by far my favorite shade from the palette aside from the fact that I have no idea how to pronounce it. Good thing I don’t have a YouTube but just a blog so I can type it out. It’s called Guipure and it’s the most beautiful stunning rose gold with a hint of peach. This blush is the only shimmery one in the palette and it’s very universal. I’d say it would look good on almost everyone. Unfortunately the camera didn’t really pick it up but it gives you the most stunning shimmery glow and it’s perfect for an every day look.

Last but definitely is the shade Chantilly, which is a bright dark but matte corral and the one shade that scared me the most after swatching it. It is just such a loud shade and I usually never go for bright blushes. I always keep it fairly natural so this one was definitely a bit of a challenge for me but after testing it out this is the blush that surprised me the most from this palette. It is very bright but you can play it down a bit and blend it to create more of a subtle look. This might be a color I’ll be pulling out in the summer a lot for a fun and colourful look. So in the picture on the left I applied it a bit more heavily while on the right it’s very subtle.

London Beauty Haul

IMG_2032

Just as promised today’s post is a haul of all the make up items I purchased while in London. To some people it might look like I got a ton of stuff but I’d been saving up a bit and used some of my Christmas money to buy these things. Since moving to the Netherlands for my BA degree I unfortunately have to miss out on most of the brands included in this haul as they are either not available in the Netherlands or very hard to find, so obviously I had to take this chance to finally be able to buy some of their products again, right? I think that’s a totally valid point! Anyway… let’s get into what I bought.

IMG_2035

Revlon Lip Butters

One of the first things I bought were these 2 lip butters in the shades Sugar Plum and Candy Apple. I love the Revlon lip butters and can’t get enough of them and since they were on a 2 for 10 offer I needed to add two more to my collection.

Revlon Highlighting Palette in 030 Bronze Glow

When I spotted this it straight away reminded me of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer bricks (which I totally love), so I wanted to give it a go. This seems like a pretty versatile palette, which you can probably use as a blush, highlight and even as eyeshadows. The shades look gorgeous, so I can’t wait to give this a proper go. However, as much as I like Revlon products, after hearing about the nasty racist comments Revlon’s CEO apparently made, I don’t think I’ll be getting any more Revlon products for a while.

Make Up Revolution Redemption Palette Essential Mattes

After becoming totally obsessed with the Make Up Revolution Flawless Palette I really wanted to get another one. I have a bit of a thing for shimmery eyeshadows and definitely am lacking in the matte eyeshadow department, so I figured getting the matte essentials palette would be a good thing. I’ve used it a few times now and so far I’m loving it. You can never go wrong with some matte basic eyeshadows after all. Am I right?

Make Up Revolution Vivivd Baked Bronzer

I don’t own a lot of bronzers and I don’t own a single baked one. This bronzer just looked gorgeous and it was only 4 pounds. I think it’s pretty self-explanatory why I got this!

IMG_2039

I heart Make Up Bronzer & Highlighter Hearts

I already own the peach blush from this heart shaped cheek products collection and I absolutely adore it. The pigmentation is on point and the packaging is the cutest. The main reason I got these probably is the packaging but they just look so pretty and I just hope that they will be just as great the blush I already own

I Heart Make Up I Heart Definition Palette

I have a few bronzer and highlighting palettes made for contouring but I don’t have own that includes a blush as well. This little palette is put together especially for fair skin (which I have without a doubt) and it’s super handy for traveling. I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting a lot of use out of this one.

Sleek Blush By 3 in Lace

Not too long ago I reviewed or more like raved about my Blush By 3 palette in Pink Lemonade and I said that once I’d go back to the UK I would need to get more of these. Well, I did. Though I didn’t get the one I originally wanted. Actually I wanted this palette that included dark berry and red shades but I accidentally grabbed the wrong one, so you can probably imagine my surprise when I opened it up in the hotel room for the first time and saw 3 bright oranges. I have a few peach blushes but not a single one that is this orange and I have no idea whether these will even suit me (probably not) but I guess I’ll just play around with it a bit and see if I can put them to use. I have to admit though these colors look a bit scary in the pan. They are so freaking bright.

Sleek Highlighting Platte

I read a review about this one a few weeks ago and thought this palette looked absolutely stunning. In reality it looks even prettier and I’m so excited to have this. It might be one of my favorite things I bought while in London.

Kate Moss in 107 Lipstick

I feel like just about every beauty blogger out there has this and it took me 4 trips to the UK to finally get my hands on it. Every single time I went into a Boots or Superdrug it was always sold out and when I finally saw it this time I grabbed it right away. It’s just such a gorgeous perfect red shade.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer

This is hands down one of my favorite concealers, so every time I travel to England I stock up on this as I can’t get it over here. I’ve actually bought 3 of these but one is already in use and looks crappy already.

IMG_2047

Tom Ford Lipsticks in Indian Rose & Flynn

Tom Ford lipsticks are the one thing I’ve been wanting for months now but never felt brave enough to splurge on. Over here they are a whooping 47€! I mean, what even? Still they are incredibly gorgeous and I just wanted one so badly. Since I was in London and I had some money from my budget, of how much I wanted to spend, left I finally gave in and bought one regular Tom Ford lipstick in the shade Indian Rose and one of the Lips & Boys collection in the shade Flynn. Both are just stunning! I decided to go with more neutral shades as I think I’ll definitely get more ouse out of those and if I do spend a little fortune on a lipstick I want it to be one I know will actually be worth it.

This now concludes my not so little haul. I hope you enjoyed reading this. If there is any particular item you would like to see a review on or used in a make up tutorial be sure to let me know.

Thanks so much for reading!

Love,

Sophie

Perfectly Pink Flushed Cheeks

IMG_1037

I bought this little Sleek Blush By 3 palette quite some time ago, when I went to the UK in August last summer. I had heard so many great things about the Sleek blushes before, I just had to try them, so I thought why not try one of their  palettes? I did and I ended up picking up one called Pink Lemonade.

IMG_1036

This palette comes in a compact black little box and contains, as the name already suggests, 3 different pink blush shades, two being powder blushes and one being a cream blush. One thing that I really like about the packaging is that it comes with quite the big mirror, which always comes in handy for traveling.

Now, I really don’t know why I haven’t mentioned this one on my blog earlier as I’m absolutely loving this blush palette. Some people might say pink blushes are more suited for spring and summer but I actually quite like them during the winter time. Mainly because I usually skip out on blush during summer and go more for a bronzed look or I go for a more peachy blush.

IMG_1040

But back to the actual palette. I really love how versatile it is as all blush shades differ immensely. First off Pink Mint is a rather sheer baby pink. It’s quite cool toned and contains some lovely gold glitter particles. It’s very pigmented but I think it’s perfect for pale skin as it is quite sheer after all. But you can always build it up of course.

Macaroon is the cream blush of the palette and definitely a cool toned pink as well. It kind of reminds me of a Barbie pink. It’s very pigmented but still very easy to apply as it blends perfectly even when you just use your fingers. I love how creamy the texture is and it has an amazing staying power. You can either use it on its own or if you want to add a bit of shimmer, you can apply either of the other two blushes on top of it, which will also prolong the wear.

The last shade is Icing Sugar and it’s more of a coral/slightly orange pink. It’s insanely pigmented and has a very metallic like shimmer as it has a frost finish. This one is my personal favorite from the palette because I love how it warms up my complexion and I love the golden shimmer it adds to my cheeks.

IMG_1045

I’m definitely really impressed with this palette and those blushed really deserve all the praise they get. This December I’m already going back to England (I’ll be in London over New Years again. Yaaay) and I have a feeling I might try to get my hands on some more sleek blushes. Any recommendations?

As always thank you so much for reading! Also, I just noticed that I’ve hit 400 followers here on WordPress! Thanks so much to everyone that is reading my little blog, commenting or liking a post. It genuinely makes me so happy and I appreciate it so much!

Love,

Sophie
