Blushing Beauties

Hey guys,

how have you all been lately? I’m finally done with all of my exams for the most part, so I can get back to a more regular blogging schedule! I’m so excited! I can’t wait to write some more lifestyle posts now that I have the time but for now I’m back with another review of two beautiful Chanel blushes.

IMG_9794

I’ve been using both of them for weeks now and totally in love although the are almost too beautiful to use. Do you ever have that problem when you buy a really nice make up item and it’s so pretty you don’t even want to use it but then you kind of spend a little fortune on it so it’s too expensive to just be sitting there on your vanity? I have this all the time because I just can’t say no to pretty make up. I know! It’s a problem! Anyway… these are actually my first Chanel blushes. So far I’ve only owned a view lip glosses and lipsticks and some eyeshadows but I never really looked much into their blushes because for high end blushes I love Nars and Mac and I think there are so amazing drugstore blushes out there like Milani. I love using blush and the way it really can make a difference to your face but I don’t go as crazy about them as I do with lipsticks and eyeshadows if that makes any sense.

IMG_9795

When I saw Chanel’s spring collection and dissevered the Blush Camelia Rose blush it was love at first sight though. However, those blushes are quite expensive so I was head over heels when my brother got it for me for my birthday in March. The other blush I’m going to talk about is the number 170 Rose Glacier, which my Grandma so kindly got for me, so let’s get right to it.

Camelia Rose

I think it is pretty self-explanatory why this was love at first sight! Just look at this blush. It is probably one of the prettiest make up items I have ever seen and definitely the prettiest one in my collection. It’s so pretty that I barely even touched it for the first few weeks because I just thought it was too pretty to use and my brother was already getting a bit confused why I was never using it and thought I didn’t like it. But now on to the actual product. As the name already kind of suggests it’s a beautiful soft pink rose-colored like shade. As you can see from the picture the blush itself is made up out of two colors, a darker pink and a very light one. I usually swirl my brush through both colors and mix them together as the light one is so light it is more of a highlight then a blush. But if you use the tow colors together you get a beautiful cool-toned soft pink with a slight shimmer although this blush is definitely more on the matte side. I think the pigmentation is just right for this blush because it is more of a subtle color for a really natural look. Even though this is blush really does remind me of Spring it’s definitely one you can use all year around, whenever you’re going for a really soft and natural look but still want some rosy cheeks.

IMG_9796IMG_9797

170 Rose Glacier

While visiting my Grandma in late April this year she took me shopping and obviously we ended up at a make up counter because my grandma knows me well. After lusting over all the beautiful products we ended up look at Chanel blushes and swatched a few. My grandma and I both loved Rose Glacier with my skin tone, so she bought it for me. I swear, she just spoils me way too much.

Okay, so Rose Glacier is an absolute little stunner. It actually reminds me a bit of Nars Orgasm because it has that same beautiful gold shimmer to it but while Orgasm is more of a peachy pink Rose Glacier is more of a cool-toned pink. Even though it is more cool-toned the golden shimmer in it adds warmth to the blush again and it really brightens up your complexion and gives you the most gorgeous rosy cheeks with a golden glow. When applying this I’d definitely recommend using a light hand thought because this blush is insanely well pigmented and you don’t want to end up with super bright pink cheeks. Or maybe you do but I definitely don’t!

IMG_9800IMG_9798

As always I have some swatches for you. The first one on the left is Rose Galcier and the second one is Camelia Rose. You ca definitely see the pigmentation here but the swatch for Rose Glacier really does not do it justice because it has much more of a golden shimmer.

IMG_9803

I’ve definitely been loving both blushes and am really glad that I have them in my collection and they really make me want to add some more Chanel blushes and not only because of their beautiful and luxurious packaging. Both blushes I’ve tried so far are just stunning shades with good pigmentation that are easy to blend and last well. What more could I want?

Do you own any Chanel blushes? What are your thoughts? Which shades would you recommend?

Much love,

Sophie

Blush Lovin’ from the Drugstore

Hey you guys,

long time no see, or read in this case. I know I’ve been a bit quiet over here on my blog as well as on Twitter lately because I’m currently trying to make my way through finals and if you’ve ever attended University you know what that means. I’ve taken all of my in class exams and now only have some essays to finish, so I thought I’d give myself a break and finally type up a blog post again because I’ve really missed blogging to be honest, so I’m really excited to get at least one post up again. Today I want to talk about my obsession with the Maxfactor compact blushes to you.

IMG_9384

After seeing them all over my Instagram I was really tempted to buy one because they not only look super pretty but I also heard a lot of good reviews about them. Since I was at the mall with my mom and my brother anyway I decided to pick one of these bad boys up and give it a go. After some heavy swatting I eventually ended up with the shade 010 Nude Mauve. Turns out I was so impressed with this blush I went back and got 2 more shades: 15 Seductive Rose and my absolute favorite 25 Alluring Rose.

IMG_9385

All three blushes look insanely pretty in the pan, which is what first drew me to them. The packaging is quite simple and compact, which I really like. What impressed me the most though was how insanely pigmented they are, especially for drugstore blushes. And they are so easy to blend! If you prefer matte blushes these might not be the ones for you as they are shimmery. However, they are some of the prettiest shimmery blushes I’ve come across because they have the perfect amount of shimmer to them. Another thing I really like is that although not all of the shades are warm-toned they somehow really brighten up your face and warm up your complexion. Basically I love them, so let me tell you a bit about the individual shades.

10 Nude Mauve

As I’ve already mentioned this was the very first shade I picked up. After swatching all of them and looking at them from all different angles I went with this one because I thought I’d wear it the most. As the name already suggests it’s a beautiful mauve color but it has a bit of a golden bronzy shimmer to it. I love the shade mauve in lipsticks, which is why I initially went for it.

IMG_9386

15 Seductive Pink

This is basically your classic more cool-toned medium pink blush. I think it’s a stunning shade but that could also be because I always go for the cool-toned pink as they really suit me. This one has a bit more of a frosty finish which goes so nicely with the color.

IMG_9387

25 Alluring Rose

So this one is the last one I picked up but it has turned out to be my favorite out of the three. It’s just the most gorgeous bronzy shade with a golden shimmer and some light pink undertones. It’s a very warm-toned blush, which is why I’m so surprised with how much I love this because I tend to go more for cool-toned shades. But I just love the way this warms up my complexion. It really adds that little extra to my face that gives me a healthy bronzed glow. As I’ve already said this one is definitely my favorite and I would totally recommend this to anyone for the summer as it really gives you a beautiful summery bronzed glow!

IMG_9388

As you can probably already guess I’m absolutely in love with these blushes and I honestly didn’t expect I would like these as much because I rarely ever buy Maxfactor products. However, I’m so glad I gave these blushes a go because all three of them are stunning. Here are some swatches for you.

(Swatches from left to right: Seductive Pink, Alluring Rose, Nude Mauve)

Have you tried these blushes? Did you like them?

Thank you so much for reading!

Mac Violetta – Purple Is My New Thing

Hey you guys,

I’m back with another Mac lipstick review. Who would’ve guessed? If you happen to follow me on Instagram or Twitter you might have already seen that a little while ago I got Mac’s Violetta thanks to the Back2Mac program. I had finally gotten enough empty products to return and I ended up going for Violetta because I knew that it wasn’t a color I’d normally go for. Those of you who have been fooling my blog for a while know how obsessed I am with lip products and I love experimenting with crazy colors. However, purple is one color I’ve always kind of stayed clear of so far. I can’t even really explain why but for some reason I was really unsure of whether it would suit me. IMG_8403

I’ve ben eyeing up Violetta for the longest time but was never brave enough to go for it. Since you can chose a free lipsticks with the Back 2 Mac program I figured this would be my one chance to finally get it and I’m so glad I took it. Violetta is just the most beautiful vibrant blue-based purple with a slight frosty shimmer to it. It has an Amplified formula, which I absolutely love as it’s quite opaque and applies so smoothly. It hardly bleeds and it doesn’t feel drying at all. What more could you want?

IMG_8403IMG_8414

Now I’m not going to lie, when I first saw the color in the bullet I found it to be a bit scary just because I never wear purple lipsticks. But as soon as I applied it on my lips I basically fell in love. The color itself looked a lot different on me than I first though it would. It wasn’t as dark and even though it is very vibrant it’s not as loud and in your face as I expected it to be. The best thing about this lipstick, in my opinion, is that when it starts fading after a few hours it fades evenly to a beautiful plum pink stain.

IMG_8409IMG_7647

As you can guess from my review I really do love this lipstick. The formula is amazing and I’m seriously obsessed with this color. If you’re brave enough to go for a purple lipstick this is one you should try!

As always I hope you enjoyed reading!
Thanks and much love,

Sophie

Mac’s Sushi Kiss

Hey lovelies,

as you all probably know by now I’m massively obsessed with lipsticks and especially Mac ones. Thanks to my amazing grandma I could welcome another member to the family a few days back: it’s Mac Sushi Kiss, which has been on my wish list for quite some time.

IMG_6897

Sushi kiss is a very pale but bright orange that comes in a Satin formula, so it’s more of a semi-matte finish.. Nearly a year ago I bought my first ever orange lipstick, which was Mac Morange. Morange is one of my favorite summer lipsticks, which I love to use to brighten up a more simple outfit. However, when I saw Sushi Kiss somewhere online I right away fell for the shade because it’s very orange as well but it’s a very light almost pastel shade of orange, even though it looks very bright in these pictures. I just think it’s a very unique shade and so stunning over the summer month. And obviously I LOVE the name. It’s so freaking cute.

IMG_6901

The lipstick itself applies very evenly and glides on very smoothly, however, I’ve noticed that it can emphasize any dry patches you may have, so just make sure to moisturize your lips very well and you should by fine. When it comes to lasting power this one will definitely last you for a few good hours and the best thing is that it fades away evenly until it only leaves a stain. If you find this color to be a bit bright and intimidating when fully applied it looks really nice as just a stain.

So to conclude I’m so happy with this shade. Not only am I in love with the adorable name but I think Sushi Kiss is such a fun and vibrant color, that is perfect for the summer months if you are someone who doesn’t shy away from loud colors!

IMG_6976

What are your favorite Mac lippies for summer?

Much love,

Sophie

A Desert Beauty

Hello lovelies,

how are you all doing today? Some of you might remember my little trip to Kiko the other week. Yes, that’s right! I now have a Kiko store near me and I’m really excited about that. If you’ve read my haul post you may know that one of the things I picked up was the Kiko Sahara Glow Highlighter in 01 Desert Colours. The highlighter is part of their current summer collection Modern Tribes, which is all about vibrant colors, bronzed skin and has a bit of an African vibe to it packaging wise (which I kinda love).

IMG_6090

The collection includes a few amazing looking products, however, what caught my eye immediately was the highlighter because it’s one of the prettiest products ever. Most of my highlighters are either liquid or pressed powders but I don’t own any highlighting pearls such as this one. I’ve seen the gorgeous Guerlain ones but they are quite pricey, so I haven’t been brave enough to take the plunge and buy them. Since the Kiko one is only a fraction of the price I just had to purchase it.

IMG_6092

First off I love the packaging. Basically you get this container that is made to look like it’s glass with this wooden like lid. The design is definitely more simple but I like how it’s quite chunky. I just have a thing for big and chunky products. Don’t judge! The only negative thing I could think of though is that because it’s quite big and relatively heavy it’s not that great for traveling and takes up quite some space in my make up bag. But that’s okay. So now on to the actual product. The highlighter contains three different shades of pearls. There is one which pretty much looks like the common highlighting light shimmery shade with a bit of gold to it. One is more of a soft peachy pink and one is a lightly bronzed shade but all three of them are stunning.

IMG_6093IMG_6095

What I do most days is I take my Zoeva highlighting brush, swirl it around the container and apply the highlighter to those parts of my face I want to highlight, so cheekbones, bridge of my nose etc. However, once the sun finally comes out a bit more and I might actually manage to get a bit of a tan I think this would look so good if I use a big fluffy brush and lightly dust it all over my skin to achieve that bronzed sun kissed look we all dream of.

IMG_6097

So to sum it all up I’m really happy with this purchase. I’m obsessed with the packaging, the product is so lovely to look at and it’s definitely a nice product to give you amazing looking glowy skin. I can’t wait to use it all throughout summer.

Have you bought anything from the Kiko Modern Tribes Collection? Any recommendations of what I should try next?

Love,

Sophie

My Top 3 Foundations (High End)

IMG_6251

Whenever I do my make up, probably the most important thing to me is for my skin to look good. Picture perfect skin is definitely the one thing that gives me the most confidence, even more than my beloved bold colored lipsticks. I think I’ve mentioned this a few times before but all throughout high school I had pretty much perfectly clear skin and never really wore foundation. Most days I would just apply a tinted moisturiser or a BB cream and set that with my holy grail powder, Mac’s Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. However, when I started University my skin went a little crazy and along with some good skin care products my search for that holy grail foundation began. Throughout the searching process I’ve definitely become a tad obsessed with trying new foundations and I always love to try out new ones, especially because I’m also quite picky when it comes to my foundations.

After searching the drugstore high and low I couldn’t find one product that satisfied me enough. I’m very fair skinned and on top of that my skin is also quite sensitive. Eventually I ventured on to high end foundations and I’ve now narrowed it down to 3 foundations, that I absolutely love and use on a regular basis, so let me introduce them to you.

SAMSUNG CSC

Estee Lauder Double Wear

This was the first high end foundation I’ve ever tried as it’s quite hyped up and I was curious to see what all the fuss was about. Luckily it turned out to be a hit for me. If you need your skin to look absolutely flawless this is the one to go for as it has such a high coverage it will cover up absolutely anything. It’s quite a thick foundation and it can be a bit drying at times, which is why I don’t use it for every day. It definitely has a matte finish but it’s not as natural, which is why I only wear this on special occasions.

SAMSUNG CSC

Dior Star

I actually never intended on buying this to be honest. Thank God though I did because it’s one of my favorite foundations I’ve ever tried. Originally I went to my local make up store to purchase the YSL Fusion Ink foundation as it had just come out and everyone was raving about it. I couldn’t really find a shade that was a perfect match, so the lovely lady working there tried a few different foundations and the one that matched me the best was the Dior Star one. It literally looked just like my skin. This is my every day foundation as it gives me such a natural look. The coverage is more medium but you can definitely build it up to high coverage. What I love the most about this foundation is how healthy and glowy it makes my skin look and how moisturizing it feels. I find the finish of this a bit hard to describe because it’s not dewy but it’s not matte either. It really just leaves your skin looking fresh and healthy and gives you this glow from within kind of look.

IMG_6624

Mac Studio Fix Fluid

As you might have noticed I just love Mac. They’re the first more high end brand I’ve ever tried and fell for, so it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t include one of their foundations. Now I haven’t actually tried many of their foundations but I do love my Studio Fix Fluid. I know a lot of people recommend this foundation and I definitely would as well. I have the shade NW10 and it is the perfect match! This has a high coverage like the Estee Laude Double wear and gives you a matte finish without drying out your skin, while it still somehow manages to look natural. I always change things up between my Dior Star and this one but I’m currently wearing this one every day as I just ordered a new bottle because sadly I had run out of my last one.

I love all three of these foundations equally and for different reasons, so I couldn’t pick my absolute favorite. However, if I had to recommend  just one I would probably recommend the Mac Studio Fix Fluid because it’s the most affordable one but still delivers just as well as the other two. I personally love the high coverage this one provides while still making my skin look natural. If you’re interested in my skin type it’s definitely normal and tends to be drying sometimes, especially in the colder months.

IMG_6246

What’s your favorite foundation? Anything I NEED to try?

Much love,

Sophie

A Lipstick I can’t get enough of: Tom Ford’s Plum Lush

IMG_5562

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Tom Ford makes some of the most beautiful and luxurious looking lipsticks, hands down! I could probably spend hours raving about the stunning packaging and the lovely vanilla scent but we don’t have all day and this is a pretty picture heavy post and I think the pictures just speak for themselves!Since I have absolutely no self control whatsoever when it comes to make up it probably comes as no surprise that I once again caved in and purchased another one. After a heavy swatching session and with the help of my mom I eventually went with the shade Plum Lush.

IMG_5567IMG_5564

I’d describe this shade as a rather cool toned raspberry pink! It’s more of a darker pink but still very bright, so if you’re not one for a bold lip this probably wouldn’t be one for you. Since I love a bold lip though I’m head over heels for this color. It seems to have very slight blue undertones, which I LOVE in a lipstick because it goes really well with my complexion. I feel like this is a shade you could wear all year around but I know I’ll be mostly wearing it over the summer months as it’s so bright and just reminds me of sunshine and pretty flowers.

IMG_5591

Plum Lush is my first Tom Ford lipstick that is in a matte finish, which is actually quite surprising because I usually always go for the mattes first. If you’ve read my review on Indian Rose you might remember that I was absolutely obsessed with that lipstick but just wished it would last a little bit longer. Well, the good news is Plum Lush, being a matte finish, last a great while longer!

IMG_5573

One thing I just love about this lipstick is despite it being a matte it’s not drying at all. It doesn’t feel moisturizing on the lips either but basically it feels as though you’re wearing no lipstick at all. It just has such a light texture! Another thing I love is how it doesn’t smudge or move around and once it fades it fades evenly. This is a very pigmented lipstick and I feel like a lot of very pigmented lipstick make a mess easily but this one doesn’t at all! I’m so amazed with how nicely it still looks on the lips even after a few hours.

IMG_5570

From all the Tom Ford lipsticks I’ve tried so far I’m liking the matte finish the best so far. I just wish these lipsticks weren’t so damn expensive! I know quite a lot of my friends and basically my whole family think I’m a bit insane for spending such high amounts on a lipstick but for me this one was totally worth it! The product itself is just as amazing as the packing of it looks. I know that I will definitely end up getting a few more of the mattes at some point. I won’t be able to resist anyway.

Have you tried any Tom Ford lipsticks? Do you find the to be worth the money? Which one is your favorite shade?

As always thank you so much for reading!

A New Obsession For Lazy Make Up Days (or when I’m just in a rush)

IMG_5464

Hey Peeps,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! So today I’m back with another review! Yay! If you happen to follow me on Instagram and/or Twitter ( which you obviously totally should haha) you might know that I recently went on a little shopping trip to Kiko and picked up a highlighter, a lipstick and two eyeshadow products. Okay, so I’m obsessed with all of them but today I want to focus on the eye make up as I’ve been honestly using it almost every single day and I’m just obsessed! Like seriously obsessed!

Okay, the first product I picked up was the Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow. Originally, I wanted a different shade but it was sold out so I thought I’d play it save and go for a color I’d love anyway and I ended up purchasing the shade 06, which is the most stunning bronzed shade. It reminds me a lot of Maybelline’s infamous color tattoo in On and On Bronze or whatever it’s called. I always find myself going for taupes and bronzed shades because I love how they emphasize my blue eyes. Anyway.. basically this is a creamy eyeshadow in a stick form. You twist the bottom and the product comes out at the top. Very simple! This product promises that it doesn’t transfer and lasts 8 hours! Now that sure sounds good to me! Firstly I haven’t had any issues with this product transferring or smudging and it really does last long! I haven’t checked if it’s actually 8 hours but I usually put this on in the morning and when I come back home at around 4 or 5 it’s still looking good, so what more could I want?

I love doing my make up! It’s one of my favorite things to do (don’t judge!) and I love playing around with loads of products but then again I also love sleep and my bed. So to be totally honest, on most days when I have to get up early my bed wins over make up and I’d rather stay cuddled up in bed for 5 more minutes than worry about my eye make up. This product is amazing for days like these! Basically what I do is use the other eye shadow which I will come to in a second and apply this over my lid and then I go in with this and I will apply it halfway along my eye lid, within my crease and I’m done! Okay, I usually will use a light shimmery shade to highlight my brow bone but then I’ll be done! Takes me 2 minutes. I’ll put on some mascara and I’m good to go.

IMG_4767

Okay, so let’s move on two eyeshadow number 2 which is called the Kiko Eyetech Look Eyeshadow. Mine is in the shade 117, which is this gorgeous shimmery greyish bronzy taupe shade. (I suck at describing colors. I know) I absolutely love applying this just all over my eye lid because it’s such a nice neutral shade that pretty much goes with anything. This product comes with a sponge applicator and basically you screw off the bottom and then you find the product kind of in the lid of the product. Okay, this probably makes no sense but I hope you get what I mean from the pictures.

This eyeshadow is more of a really finely milled powder and it’s fairly shimmery but I really like this at it is not too over the top and perfect for a neutral every day look in my eyes. Kiko promises that it lasts up to 10 hours. Again I will apply this in the morning around 7.30ish and when I get home after university seminars and lectures my eye make up is still intact and looking good. Sometimes the color has faded a bit but nothing major.

IMG_5466

In conclusion I love love love these two products on days I’m either in a rush or just can’t leave my bed! They’re so easy to apply and they last! They don’t move around or smudge and they’re really affordable! I know I will be paying my local Kiko store another visit soon picking up more shades!

IMG_5467

Have you tried any Kiko products lately? Any recommendations?

As always thank you lovely people so much for reading!

XO,

Sophie

A Glowing Complexion with the Sleek Precious Metals Palette

Okay, so I bought this little beauty of a palette all the way back in December! I’ve been wanting to review it for weeks now but somehow I never did. But now that summer is coming up I think it’s the perfect time to review this! While I rarely use bronzer on a daily base I can hardly go a day without using highlighter! I’m a bit obsessed with highlighter to be honest! I just love how they add a nice, healthy glow to your face and brighten your complexion. Over the past month my collection go highlighter has grown quite immensely but I just love to test them all out. I can’t help myself. When I stumbled over this Sleek highlighting palette while I was in London I just immediately knew I had to have it.

IMG_4785

Usually I have more champagne, rosy kind of highlighter because I prefer them over the colds months. While this palette does contain one champagne shade it also includes 3 more golden highlights, which I think will be perfect for the summer to chi eve that golden blowy sun-kissed look! Basically this palette contains 4 shades; 3 cream highlights and one powder and all three are absolutely gorgeous! As always I’ve got some swatches for you! Just look how pretty those colors are!

IMG_4787

So you have Platinum, which is beautiful champaign color, which I love using in the inner corner of my eye or my brow bone. Next to Platinum there is Royal Gold, which is a stunning glittery gold shade. In the lower row on the left there is Renaissance Gold, which is lee glittery than Royal Gold and more of a bronzed gold. The final shade on the right, Antique Gold, is more of a copper shade and it’s also the only powder in this palette. Since Antique is a powered and quite dark you can even use it as a bronzer if you’re pale like me, as it really warms up complexion! The packaging does come with instructions on how to use which shade but I don’t really follow those to be honest.

What’s nice is that the palette comes with a relatively big mirror, which I always love because they can come in pretty handy if you’re traveling. It also includes a brush, which I’ve never used though. I either use my Zoeva creme cheek brush or my fingers to apply the cream shades, which works well for me. But I think when it comes to application and which shade you want to use for what it really comes down to what you prefer individually

IMG_4784

But to sum it all up I’m quite in love with this palette. I love how it offers more golden bronzed shades, because I don’t have any of those yet and they will be so nice once the sun comes out more and summer rolls around! If you want to achieve that golden shimmery summer glow I would definitely recommend this! The highlights are absolutely stunning and really easy to work with it.

Have you tried this palette yet? Are you highlighter obsessed as well?

Much love,

Sophie

My Current Mac Cosmetics Lipstick Collection

Hey lovelies,

how are you all? I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend! A little while ago I asked you whether you would read a Mac lipstick collection post because I, personally, love to read them and I got a few comments saying you would, so now I’ve finally managed to find the time to do this post for you. It was quite time consuming taking all the pictures of the lipsticks and swatches but I’ve finally done it! Yay!

IMG_4702

Most of you probably know by now that I’m a bit of an obsessive lipstick hoarder and Mac is pretty much my favorite brands for lipsticks. My entire collection currently consists of 16 lipsticks. I don’t know how the compares to others but I guess some have less and some have a lot more. I’m really happy with the collection I’ve built up so far because I think I have quite the variety of different shades and I pretty much wear all of them on a relatively regular basis! But enough with the rambling. Let’s get into it!

Nudes

Shy Girl  –  Shy Girl is more of a peachy nude that comes in a creme sheen formula. This is one of my first Mac lipsticks and probably the one I wear the least. It’s definitely a pretty shade but since it is so light and peachy I found that it washes me out quite a bit. I ordered this online without really seeing whether it would suit me, so this might be the only Mac lipstick I somewhat regret buying.

Velvet Teddy – If you haven’t heard about this lipstick recently you must be living under a rock! It’s been insanely hyped up but I can definitely see why! Since I am so pale I prefer darker nude lipsticks anyway. Velvet Teddy is definitely a more dark nude as it has more brown undertones to it. Additionally it’s a matte, which makes me love it even more because matte lipsticks are my favorite finish. If you’re into more of a dark nude you need this in your life! It’s amazing and one of my go to lipsticks right now.

Pink Plaid – Another one of my current Mac favorites. Pink Plaid is more of a dusty mauve kind of nude pink and it’s in a matte formula as well. I feel like this one really suits my complexion and it’s fairly neutral so it’s a perfect shade for every day.

Hot Gossip –  Hot Gossip is similar to Pink Plaid more of a mauve darker pink type of nude. However, it comes in a creme sheen formula, which I love on days when my lips just need something a bit more moisturizing and creamy.

IMG_4708IMG_4716

IMG_4712

Pinks

Viva Glam Lady Gaga – This was my very first Mac lipsticks and makes me feel all nostalgic every time I look at it. I bought this when I was around 14 or 15 and back then I was in a pink phase and loved everything back and I really liked Lady Gaga, so I had to have this lipstick! It’s in a Lustre finish and it’s basically the perfect bubble gum pink.

Impassioned – Impassioned is one of my favorite Mac lipsticks for summer! It’s so vibrant and fun and the color reminds me of watermelons! If you want a bright and fun color for summer and your not afraid of hot pinks you need this in your life! Impassioned comes in an amplified formula, which is probably my second favorite after matte.

Relentlessly Red – Don’t be fooled by the name of this one as it’s nowhere near a red. It’s definitely more of a bright pinkish coral color. This one is a retro matte, so it tends to be a bit drying on your lips. However, if you prepare your lips well with some balm or a lip scrub you’ll be fine. And obviously this isn’t a color you’d wear every day.

Girl About Town – This is another one of my favorites. Girl about Town is the most perfect blue based bright pink. It’s bright but it’s still more of a dark pink, so it doesn’t really scream at you if you know what I mean. This one is in an Amplified formula and I love how it feels so creamy and nice on my lips.

Oranges & Plums

Morange –  I was so unsure of whether I should get this lipstick or not because it’s bright orange and I usually never wear orange and I just wasn’t sure whether I could pull it off. Eventually I ended up purchasing it and I’m quite happy I did. Yes, it’s super bright but I love wearing this in the summer with a really minimal eye make up.

Lady Danger –  Technically this is more of a red than an orange shade but it has some orange undertones, so I wanted to put it into this category because I felt like it wouldn’t fit in with my reds. Usually I always go for the blue based reds but with summer coming up I fairly recently decided to be brave and buy this shade. Since it is so orangy I find it to be perfect shade for summer. It is very loud and vibrant and such a pick me up shade.

Flat Out Fabulous – Basically this is a very similar color as Girl About Town but while Girl About Town is more pink Flat Out Fabulous is more purple. Additionally Flat Out Fabulous has a retro matte finish, which I love because I always tend to go for mattes.

Rebel – I feel like just about every beauty blogger seems to own this shade. It’s just the perfect dark pink plum kind of shade for fall. Basically this is almost all I wear in fall and definitely one of my favorites from my collection.

Reds

Ruby Woo – This is another shade everyone seems to know and own. Ruby Woo is just the most perfect red shade for me! Since I’m very fair skinned and have blue eyes and blonde hair this is the most perfect red lipstick for me because it has blue undertones! The only downside about this lipstick is that it can be fairly drying but that’s okay. I love it anyway.

Viva Glam Rihanna – This is the only Mac lipstick I own that has a Frost finish. Usually I don’t go for the Frosts because they tend to be quite shimmery, which is something I don’t necessarily like. However, I really like this red shade and I don’t mind that it’s a bit shimmery because it somehow works for me.

Diva – I’m really into dark lipsticks and I was quite obsessed with Diva for a while after purchasing it. It’s such a deep burgundy red and a shade I love to wear especially during the fall and winter months.

Sin – After seeing swatches of Sin online I just knew I needed to have it! Even though it looks to be pretty similar to Diva it’s more brown and a tad darker. Just like Diva it’s a matte. I’ve been trying to get a hold of this for weeks now but it was sold out in my local Mac. So when my best Friend got me this for my 20th birthday recently I was so happy about it and I’ve already worn it a lot.

And now I’ve introduced you to all 16 of my beloved Mac lippies! If I had to choose a top 5 they’d probably be Velvet Teddy, Pink Plaid, Girl About Town, Ruby Woo and Sin (in nor particular order). Nonetheless I love them all and I’m sure I will be adding a few more to my collection over time. I know some people find Mac lipsticks to be a bit overrated but I genuinely don’t! They are hands down my favorite lipsticks because the quality is amazing and the prices are okay!

How many Mac lipsticks do you own? Which one should I get next?
