A Current Lip Liner Obsession

As I mention on here quite frequently I’m obsessed with all sorts of lip products, so lip liners sure aren’t an exception. I like to mix up my lip products all the time but there’s one I’ve rediscovered and have been wearing constantly ever since and that is my Maybelline Super Stay Lip Liner.

The shade that I’ve been wearing so much is the number 41 Rosewood. I can’t tell you why but I’m really liking that name. So the packaging obviously isn’t the best as this is quite cheap lip liner but it is pretty decent after all. I’m a bit annoyed that you have to twist the bottom half of the liner in order for the product to come out because it sometimes doesn’t work too well but then again you don’t have to sharpen it, so that’s a plus.

At first I never liked how thin the liner was because it takes quite a while to fill in your entire lips but it really lets you be incredibly precise when lining your lips, which I grew to like a lot! So onto the actual color. I’d say Rosewood is a nice dusty rose shade, which is almost like a your lips but better kind of shade. I’m not the best at describing colors but this is one of the prettiest nude shades I own, to be honest, which is probably why I’ve been wearing it so much lately. It’s a complete matte finish and it really gives your lips a much fuller look but still keeps them natural looking.  One thing I dislike a little is that it can be a bit drying but if you prime your lips properly you should be fine.

This has been one of my go to lip liners recently as it’s the perfect every day color and it lasts really long, so I thought I’d share it on here.

Have a lovely Sunday,

Nude Perfection For Lazy Lip Days

If your a lip product addict I’m sure you’re familiar with those days when you really want to wear a lipstick or something but you just can’t be bothered with the effort. Even if you’re not a lip product addict, you probably know what I’m talking about. Sometimes you just don’t feel like prepping your lips with balm and then carefully line them with a lipliner, then apply your lipstick and maybe if you’re into gloss you might even top it all off with a lip gloss! Sometimes you just want to apply something real quick and be done without having to worry about your lipstick emphasising dry patches or staining or you name it.

While I’m definitely a lover of a bold lip I like to keep it natural a lot as well. Especially on days when I’m not doing much besides maybe attending a lecture or something I’m really into nudes. Now I’ve found the perfect product for my lazy lip days: The Maybelliner Color Drama  in Nude Perfection.

I think the name is pretty  much on point and says it all. The shade is more of a darker nude but I definitely prefer those to the lighter ones as they go better with my complexion, so for me this is definitely a perfect shade of nude. The best thing though is that this is so super easy to apply. It literally takes a few seconds to apply and it’s so long lasting. Plus it feels so nice and moisturizing on the lips! When it comes to lip liners and matte lipstick I’m always a bit worried that they are too drying but this one is not drying at all which is a big plus.

All in all I’m just really loving this product at the moment as it ticks off all the boxes. It’s long lasting, non drying, matte gorgeous nude shade and it’s just perfect for those lazy days when I can’t be bothered with all the other stuff.

So have you tried one of the color dramas yet? What are your thoughts? Which is your favorite?

Pink Beauty – A Fall Favorite

Quite a lot of my recent post are revolving around fall but fall is officially here and one of my favorite seasons. Now some people like to change up their make up depending on what season it is and I’m definitely one of them. While I love bright pinks in the summer I tend to store them away once the days get shorter and the nights get darker. During fall and winter I totally love a darker lip. One of my favorite shades especially in fall is a darker pink berry kind of shade. Hence I thought I’d share one of my favorite lipsticks for fall with you guy. And guess what? It’s really affordable as well.

The lipstick I’m talking about today is the Maybelline ColorSensational in 190 Atomic Pink. I’m quite the fan to the colorsensationals in general as I’m in love with their formulae. They aren’t exactly matte but not too glossy either and they feel super moisturizing on the lips. I know I get really dry lips once it gets colder, so I think it’s nice to have a lipstick that moisturises as well. As much as I love my Mac matte lipsticks they sometimes require too much effort. At times you just want to smack on a bit of color without having to worry that your lips are turning into a total mess because you didn’t moisturise them enough. With this lipstick you’re definitely on the safe side because it doesn’t stick to any dry patches.

But now let’s talk about the actual color of this lipstick. How gorgeous is this dark pink shade? I think it’s beautiful. In my opinion it’s the perfect berry shade, which makes it the perfect lipstick for fall because I love berry shades during fall. I don’t know what it is about that color but I think it’s so fitting for fall. I adore dark red lips as well but I tend to wear those more towards November or the winter months (with a few exceptions here and then) Here’s a little swatch for you guys.

And this is how it looks on the lips.

If you’re looking for a nice berry shade for fall I can only recommend this one. The shade is beautiful, it’s fairly long lasting, affordable and I think it’s a shade that would suit a lot of people.

What are your favorite fall lipstick shades?

A Lip Combo I’ve been Loving

It’s Monday! Most people I know dread Mondays including me. It’s just hard to go back to the serious life after a fun and relaxing weekend. Even though I’m still at home for another week to recover from my hospital incident I definitely feel along with those who have to go back to work, uni or school.

Since it’s Monday I thought I’d share one of my tips with you to be motivated and to get through Monday. One thing that always helps me is to doll myself up a little and here’s a pretty lip combo I’ve been loving lately, that is just perfect for every day.

IMG_4890

These are the two products I’ve loved mixing lately. First I apply one of my favorite nude lipsticks: the Maybelline Color Sensational 725 in Tantalizing Taupe. If you ever get one nude lipstick from the drugstore this is the one I would recommend. The shade is just perfect, it’s so creamy and moisturizing, which makes it a dream to apply and it lasts a fair share of time.

Next I apply a bit of my Mac Dreamy lipgloss. I’m usually not too much into lip glosses but this one is an absolute dream. It’s a gorgeous super light pink gloss, that gives your lips a pretty shimmer without being too pink. Plus it’s not sticky and let’s be real sticky glosses are the worst. I hate when my hair gets caught up in those. Luckily this gloss is super moisturising as well and not sticky at all.

What I like about this combo is that the lipstick adds volume to my lips while the gloss gives them a natural shimmer. It’s the perfect combo for every day whether for work, school or uni.

Maybelline Matte Maker Powder Review

SAMSUNG CSC

It’s pretty safe to say that powder is an absolute essential in every girl’s make up collection whether is compressed powder, mineral powder or God knows what. Powder is what helps us to hide oily skin, cover imperfections and achieve a flawless and evenly skin. So far my go to powder has been the Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder. I tried it once and stuck with it because I absolutely loved it.

Clumsy me dropped the powder and now it is completely shattered and broken up into a bunch of tiny little pieces and I can no longer use it. Of course I freaked out and immediately went to the nearest drug store to get a new one. Unlucky as I am they were sold out in my usual shade. Oh joy. Now I was a little desperate and started browsing through the shelves for something else. As a beauty blogger I should probably always have a back up but I have to admit when it comes to foundation and powder I tend to always stick with what I like instead of switching things up too much. Hence I’ve only ever really used either my Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Powder or my Rimmel powder. Yes, I have tried other drugstore powders but most of them didn’t work that well for me.

Okay long story but let’s get on. I spotted the Maybelline Matte Maker Powder and figured since it’s supposed to give you a matte finish just like the Rimmel London one I might as well try that. At first I was a bit sceptical because I had tried the Maybelline Pure Powder before and let me tell you I didn’t like it at all.

SAMSUNG CSC

Still I thought hey why not give it a shot and I was in for a positive surprise. The powder itself comes in a rather cheap packaging but since the price itself is just 4.95 (!) you can’t really complain. Now on to the actual product. For me it’s really important for a powder to reduce any shine and give my face a matte finish without looking chalky or caky. The Maybelline Matte Powder does exactly this. I applied it in the morning and it kept my skin looking good all day long. I personally don’t suffer too much from oily skin, so I can’t tell you how it works on oily skin but if you have regular skin this is definitely worth checking out.

SAMSUNG CSC

I love its texture as it is quite creamy and really easy to apply. It spreads evenly and doesn’t make you look orange or muddy. I got my powder in the shade 20 Nude Beige. It is currently available in 4 shades, which isn’t really much. I’m pretty pale but Nude Beige was a perfect fit for me.

Over all I have to admit I was really surprised by how much I liked this powder. For me it worked really well. In fact it was just as good as the Rimmel one and I think I will repurchase this after I’ve used it up. The Rimmel Powder is with 10€ twice as much as the Maybelline, so why pay more when you can get a cheaper product that is just as good, right?

Have you ever tried this powder? What did you think of it?

Pretty In Pink

Hey lovelies! Though I usually prefer a more nude look I do like to add some color and sport a bright lip during the day every once in a while. Today I want to show you my how to rock that bright pink lipstick during the day. With Valentine’s day coming up I thought this would also be a cute look if you like to keep it on the low make-up wise. The lipstick I’m using in this tutorial is one of my favourites because it is a pretty bright color but not too strongly pigmented and very glossy, which is why I think it’s a good lipstick for an everyday look.

1. Start of with foundation.                                         2. Apply light pink pigments on your eyelids.

3.  Apply light eyeshadow along your brow bone for highlighting.

4. Apply a taupe eyeshadow along your eyelid fold, outer V and the waterline to bring definition to your eye.

5. Time for mascara! I’m using the Big Eyes mascara by Maybelline. I like to use this one because it has one brush for the upper lashes and one for the lower lashes.

6. Apply a light pink blush.                                          7. Finish of the look with your favorite pink lipstick

Super Stay Better Skin Foundation by Maybelline Review

IMG_2313

IMG_2383

As mentioned in one of my blog posts last week, I’ve bought the Super Stay Better Skin foundation due to its advertisement and because I’ve been looking for a new cheaper foundation. My skin is really light, which sometimes makes it pretty difficult to find a good drugstore foundation for me. Most of them just make my skin look orange and I definitely don’t want that. When I saw the commercials for this foundation I decided to just give it a go and try it because I’ve been loving a lot of Mayblline’s products lately.

Now for me, personally, a good foundation needs to fulfil 3 criteria:

1. Create an even teint.

2. Cover up any imperfections.

3. Last all day.

The Super Stay Better Skin foundation promises that it does not only provide your skin with a good coverage, that will make your skin look healthy and flawless while lasting up to 13 hours. No, it also claims that it will perfect your skin within three weeks of usage.  I’m not too sure whether it will actually improve your skin although it does contain a few skin care ingredients such as Copper, Magnesium, Vitamin B and Zinc.

I’ve been trying it out for about a week now and I can say that I definitely like it. The texture is not too runny, which makes it easy to apply the foundation evenly on my skin. Due to a hydration formula it also makes my skin feel really refreshed and soft. Almost as if I’d just applied moisturiser. It covers up my skin really well although I have to say, that I already have pretty clear skin so I don’t know how the coverage is for someone with a lot of imperfections. I also love that it feels so light on my skin. Some foundations feel so heavy and make my skin itchy and red because I have rather sensitive skin but this foundation does not do that at all. I wouldn’t say that it lasts 13 hours but definitely around 10, which is enough for me because I usually don’t wear make up for more than 13 hours straight anyway.

I would definitely recommend this product if you’re looking for a cheap alternative for your everyday foundation. For me it does the job because it fulfils all of my criterias. It covers up my imperfections, creates an even look on my skin and it lasts really long. Apart from that it feels very good on my skin. I don’t know how this product works if you have really oily or really dry skin. Everyone’s skin is different but for me it totally does the job.

So again if you have normal skin that is not too oily or too dry and you’re looking for a rather cheap foundation for everyday usage this is the one.

Have a lovely day! X
