FOTD: A Warm Smokey Eye Using the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Palette

Hey lovelies,

I haven’t actually done a make up look in forever and since playing around with my make up is one of my favorite things to do I’ve been playing around with my Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita palette a lot and today I want to show you one of my favorites looks I’ve been doing.  First off taking pictures of my make up that actually look good is so freaking hard. Especially because I currently only have my iPhone to take pictures. I really envy those girls on Instagram who have those super gorgeous make up look pictures. I don’t know how they do it because my pictures never turn out that good.

Anyway.. so for my base I used my Dior Star foundation, collection 2000 long lasting perfection concealer along with my Mac Mineralize Skinfinish powder, so basically the same as always.

For the eye look I actually skipped the primer. So first I applied the lights shade all over my eye lid and along my brow bone. Next I took the reddish shade and applied it on three quarters of my eye lid as well as along the waterline. I then used the olive brown shade within my crease and to finish off the look I used a bit of the golden glitter to add some soft sparkles. I opted for only drawing a very fine line with my eyeliner but if you want to be a bit more dramatic a winged eyeliner would look good with this. Lastly I just applied some mascara.

Basically we’re almost done with the look. All I did then was just apply a bit of blush and I used one of my Bobbi Brown Shimmer bricks to just add a warm glow. To balance out the smokey eye I applied a Maybelline lipliner in the shade Noisette first and Mac Velvet Teddy after.

So that’s the finished look. I really hope you enjoy this post and the pictures are okay. I’d love your thoughts and opinions on this one!

Much love,

A Glowing Complexion with the Sleek Precious Metals Palette

Okay, so I bought this little beauty of a palette all the way back in December! I’ve been wanting to review it for weeks now but somehow I never did. But now that summer is coming up I think it’s the perfect time to review this! While I rarely use bronzer on a daily base I can hardly go a day without using highlighter! I’m a bit obsessed with highlighter to be honest! I just love how they add a nice, healthy glow to your face and brighten your complexion. Over the past month my collection go highlighter has grown quite immensely but I just love to test them all out. I can’t help myself. When I stumbled over this Sleek highlighting palette while I was in London I just immediately knew I had to have it.

Usually I have more champagne, rosy kind of highlighter because I prefer them over the colds months. While this palette does contain one champagne shade it also includes 3 more golden highlights, which I think will be perfect for the summer to chi eve that golden blowy sun-kissed look! Basically this palette contains 4 shades; 3 cream highlights and one powder and all three are absolutely gorgeous! As always I’ve got some swatches for you! Just look how pretty those colors are!

So you have Platinum, which is beautiful champaign color, which I love using in the inner corner of my eye or my brow bone. Next to Platinum there is Royal Gold, which is a stunning glittery gold shade. In the lower row on the left there is Renaissance Gold, which is lee glittery than Royal Gold and more of a bronzed gold. The final shade on the right, Antique Gold, is more of a copper shade and it’s also the only powder in this palette. Since Antique is a powered and quite dark you can even use it as a bronzer if you’re pale like me, as it really warms up complexion! The packaging does come with instructions on how to use which shade but I don’t really follow those to be honest.

What’s nice is that the palette comes with a relatively big mirror, which I always love because they can come in pretty handy if you’re traveling. It also includes a brush, which I’ve never used though. I either use my Zoeva creme cheek brush or my fingers to apply the cream shades, which works well for me. But I think when it comes to application and which shade you want to use for what it really comes down to what you prefer individually

But to sum it all up I’m quite in love with this palette. I love how it offers more golden bronzed shades, because I don’t have any of those yet and they will be so nice once the sun comes out more and summer rolls around! If you want to achieve that golden shimmery summer glow I would definitely recommend this! The highlights are absolutely stunning and really easy to work with it.

Have you tried this palette yet? Are you highlighter obsessed as well?

Much love,

My Current Mac Cosmetics Lipstick Collection

Hey lovelies,

how are you all? I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend! A little while ago I asked you whether you would read a Mac lipstick collection post because I, personally, love to read them and I got a few comments saying you would, so now I’ve finally managed to find the time to do this post for you. It was quite time consuming taking all the pictures of the lipsticks and swatches but I’ve finally done it! Yay!

Most of you probably know by now that I’m a bit of an obsessive lipstick hoarder and Mac is pretty much my favorite brands for lipsticks. My entire collection currently consists of 16 lipsticks. I don’t know how the compares to others but I guess some have less and some have a lot more. I’m really happy with the collection I’ve built up so far because I think I have quite the variety of different shades and I pretty much wear all of them on a relatively regular basis! But enough with the rambling. Let’s get into it!

Shy Girl  –  Shy Girl is more of a peachy nude that comes in a creme sheen formula. This is one of my first Mac lipsticks and probably the one I wear the least. It’s definitely a pretty shade but since it is so light and peachy I found that it washes me out quite a bit. I ordered this online without really seeing whether it would suit me, so this might be the only Mac lipstick I somewhat regret buying.

Velvet Teddy – If you haven’t heard about this lipstick recently you must be living under a rock! It’s been insanely hyped up but I can definitely see why! Since I am so pale I prefer darker nude lipsticks anyway. Velvet Teddy is definitely a more dark nude as it has more brown undertones to it. Additionally it’s a matte, which makes me love it even more because matte lipsticks are my favorite finish. If you’re into more of a dark nude you need this in your life! It’s amazing and one of my go to lipsticks right now.

Pink Plaid – Another one of my current Mac favorites. Pink Plaid is more of a dusty mauve kind of nude pink and it’s in a matte formula as well. I feel like this one really suits my complexion and it’s fairly neutral so it’s a perfect shade for every day.

Hot Gossip –  Hot Gossip is similar to Pink Plaid more of a mauve darker pink type of nude. However, it comes in a creme sheen formula, which I love on days when my lips just need something a bit more moisturizing and creamy.

Viva Glam Lady Gaga – This was my very first Mac lipsticks and makes me feel all nostalgic every time I look at it. I bought this when I was around 14 or 15 and back then I was in a pink phase and loved everything back and I really liked Lady Gaga, so I had to have this lipstick! It’s in a Lustre finish and it’s basically the perfect bubble gum pink.

Impassioned – Impassioned is one of my favorite Mac lipsticks for summer! It’s so vibrant and fun and the color reminds me of watermelons! If you want a bright and fun color for summer and your not afraid of hot pinks you need this in your life! Impassioned comes in an amplified formula, which is probably my second favorite after matte.

Relentlessly Red – Don’t be fooled by the name of this one as it’s nowhere near a red. It’s definitely more of a bright pinkish coral color. This one is a retro matte, so it tends to be a bit drying on your lips. However, if you prepare your lips well with some balm or a lip scrub you’ll be fine. And obviously this isn’t a color you’d wear every day.

Girl About Town – This is another one of my favorites. Girl about Town is the most perfect blue based bright pink. It’s bright but it’s still more of a dark pink, so it doesn’t really scream at you if you know what I mean. This one is in an Amplified formula and I love how it feels so creamy and nice on my lips.

Oranges & Plums

Morange –  I was so unsure of whether I should get this lipstick or not because it’s bright orange and I usually never wear orange and I just wasn’t sure whether I could pull it off. Eventually I ended up purchasing it and I’m quite happy I did. Yes, it’s super bright but I love wearing this in the summer with a really minimal eye make up.

Lady Danger –  Technically this is more of a red than an orange shade but it has some orange undertones, so I wanted to put it into this category because I felt like it wouldn’t fit in with my reds. Usually I always go for the blue based reds but with summer coming up I fairly recently decided to be brave and buy this shade. Since it is so orangy I find it to be perfect shade for summer. It is very loud and vibrant and such a pick me up shade.

Flat Out Fabulous – Basically this is a very similar color as Girl About Town but while Girl About Town is more pink Flat Out Fabulous is more purple. Additionally Flat Out Fabulous has a retro matte finish, which I love because I always tend to go for mattes.

Rebel – I feel like just about every beauty blogger seems to own this shade. It’s just the perfect dark pink plum kind of shade for fall. Basically this is almost all I wear in fall and definitely one of my favorites from my collection.

Ruby Woo – This is another shade everyone seems to know and own. Ruby Woo is just the most perfect red shade for me! Since I’m very fair skinned and have blue eyes and blonde hair this is the most perfect red lipstick for me because it has blue undertones! The only downside about this lipstick is that it can be fairly drying but that’s okay. I love it anyway.

Viva Glam Rihanna – This is the only Mac lipstick I own that has a Frost finish. Usually I don’t go for the Frosts because they tend to be quite shimmery, which is something I don’t necessarily like. However, I really like this red shade and I don’t mind that it’s a bit shimmery because it somehow works for me.

Diva – I’m really into dark lipsticks and I was quite obsessed with Diva for a while after purchasing it. It’s such a deep burgundy red and a shade I love to wear especially during the fall and winter months.

Sin – After seeing swatches of Sin online I just knew I needed to have it! Even though it looks to be pretty similar to Diva it’s more brown and a tad darker. Just like Diva it’s a matte. I’ve been trying to get a hold of this for weeks now but it was sold out in my local Mac. So when my best Friend got me this for my 20th birthday recently I was so happy about it and I’ve already worn it a lot.

And now I’ve introduced you to all 16 of my beloved Mac lippies! If I had to choose a top 5 they’d probably be Velvet Teddy, Pink Plaid, Girl About Town, Ruby Woo and Sin (in nor particular order). Nonetheless I love them all and I’m sure I will be adding a few more to my collection over time. I know some people find Mac lipsticks to be a bit overrated but I genuinely don’t! They are hands down my favorite lipsticks because the quality is amazing and the prices are okay!

How many Mac lipsticks do you own? Which one should I get next?

Thanks for reading!

Much love,

Charlotte Tilbury – The Dolce Vita Palette

Charlotte Tilbury is one brand, which products I’ve been dying to try and I’ve finally got my hands on one of their product. While I was in London for my birthday I was browsing through all the beautiful products in Selfridges and eventually decided to purchase the Dolce Vita palette, as I loved the design of it and the colors it offered.

The packaging is in this beautiful brownish dark red maroon kind of shade with golden details, which makes it look so luxurious. Additionally it comes in a nice size as it is not too big and pretty much fits into every make up bag. Perfect for traveling or when you’re on the go! The palettes itself contains four beautiful shades.

First you get a very shimmery warm slightly peachy golden highlighter, which is the perfect shade to highlight along your brow bone. Next you get a gorgeous shimmery maroon kind of color, which I like so use along the outer sides of my lid. In shade in the bottom row on the left is more kind of a glitter than an actual eyeshadow. Basically it’s a golden glitter, which you can apply on top of any other shade to add a bit of sparkle, and who doesn’t love sparkle? Lastly the palette also includes a brown, which seems to have a bit of an olive undertone to me and just like the other shade it has a bit of a gold shimmer to it as well. Needless to say all four shades are absolutely stunning and the combination you have with this palette definitely lets you create a variety of different looks, which makes it very versatile.

Now on to the formula. All four shades are very nicely pigmented, which is always one of the most important things for me! They are really soft and buttery, which makes the application very simple and most importantly even. Another great thing is that they blend effortlessly! Whenever I do my eye makeup I usually use some kind of cream eyeshadow base as a sort of primer to make my eyeshadow pop more and for it to stay on longer. Now I haven’t tried these eyeshadows without a base or primer but with one they definitely last for hours and I don’t have to worry about reapplying!

Basically I’m in love with this palette! After hearing such great things about Charlotte Tilbury make up I’ve had quite high expectations but they were definitely met. This palette offers you some beautiful shades with which you can create everything from a neutral every day look to a sparkly evening look. What more could you want?

Have you tried any Charlotte Tilbury make up? What should I try next?

Much love,

March Favorites

So it’s already the 4th of April and I’m slightly late but I’ve finally come around to blog my March favorites! Yay! Throughout the month of March I’ve actually used a lot of old favorites, that I’ve loved for a while but I believe they’re alway worth a mention again. I seriously can’t believe it’s April already! I just finished my midterms, so I now only have 7 weeks of my 4th semester left. What even?! Anyway.. I should probably get to the products now!

So first off I’ve been using my Naked 3 palette so much all throughout March! I’ve had this one for nearly a year now and I think it’s one of my most used and loved palettes by far. For my birthday I finally received the Naked 2, which I’m LOVING at the moment.

Nars Contour Blush

This is another product I’ve had for nearly a year now. When I first got it I used it like crazy and was totally obsessed with it but then I continued to purchase so many contour products I kind of forgot about this one. Now I’ve finally taken it out off the back of my make up drawer again and I’ve used it almost every time I did some basic contouring.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nudist

After trying one of these in the shade Grand Crux I really disliked these and didn’t get the hype but after some more google research it was apparently just the one color I bought. So I decided to give them another chance and I bought the shade Nudist. Now I’m hooked. I hate the smell of these but the color I now have is gorgeous, I really like the formular and I love the finish.

YSL Rouge Volupte in no.32 Corail Jalouse

Okay, so I love YSL lipsticks. Apart from maybe Tom Ford or Chanel they are one of the prettiest lipsticks out there and they feel so luxurious. Every time I pull one of these out and apply it on my lips I feel like an actual princess. Because this is such a beauty and it’s so expensive I rarely use it because I don’t want to waste it, which is quite stupid if you think about it because I did spend quite some money on this. In March I’ve finally worn this again more and it’s probably one of my favorite Spring lipsticks.

L’Oreal Brow Artist Shaper

I have a bit of a love hate relationships with my brows. Doing my make up is one of my favorite things but I hate doing my brows because I’m never happy with the outcome. However, thanks to L’Oreal’s Brow Artist Shaper I think I’ve gotten better at doing my brows. I got mine in the shade blonde, which matches my eyebrows quite well. Basically, I’ve been using this every day lately.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

This actually came with the Urban Decay Naked On The Run Palette. I’ve been loving this mascara because it really lengthens my lashes and I’m thinking on buying the full size one once I run out of this.

And that concludes my March favorites! What have you been loving this month?

Thanks for reading and I wish you all a great Easter weekend!

Much love,

What I Got For My Birthday

After a bit of contemplating and asking on Twitter I’ve finally decided to do a What I Got For My Birthday post after all. I, personally, always enjoy reading them, so I decided to write one up for you guys. But before I get into what I received, let me just say that I am very grateful for everything I’ve received for my birthday and I really appreciate everything I got and I would’ve been happy with a lot less. The most important thing for me was to just spend it with my family anyway! Now that I got that out of the way let’s get right into it.

If you’ve read my last blog post you know that I got to spend my birthday in London to go see Wicked, which was my main present and pretty much the best thing ever. But my parents also got me a pair of Beats headphones! This was my main wish ever since my brother got a pair for Christmas. The sound quality is such a difference and they are so much more comfortable to wear than my regular Apple earphones. Since I basically listen to music all the time I was so so so happy when I unwrapped these and my parents even got the color right. I have a bit of an obsession with everything white.

Another thing I got from my parents is the Urban Decay Naked 2. I already own the Naked 3 and I have the Naked On The Run as well and the Naked 2 was next on my wish list. I’ve already used it quite a lot and I think I might even like this one more than the Naked 3. Now I do feel like I need to get the Naked 1 though just to complete the collection.

So my brother has pretty much outdone himself. His birthday is in May and I already got his birthday present and I didn’t think he could top mine. My brother and I both listen to a lot of R&B and HipHop/Rap and I got tickets to go to a J Cole concert because my brother and I both love his music and though this blush can’t top that, it gets pretty damn close. Just look at this absolute beauty! I could just stare at it for hours! It’s so freaking beautiful I don’t even wanna touch it let alone use it.

If you’ve read my wish list you might know that I was looking for a new handbag and my lovely grandparents bought me this one for my birthday. I’ve already instagrammed it a little while ago. As I was in London and couldn’t celebrate my actual birthday with my grandparents they took me shopping two weeks before and I got to pick a present, so I went for this beautiful purse. Obviously it had to be white.

Since I also got some money for my birthday I decided to spend a bit of that on make up, of course. So when in London my mom and I went to Selfridges and I went for this gorgeous Tom Ford lipstick in the shade Plum Lush and this super pretty Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita palette. This is my first ever Charlotte Tilbury purchase and I’m already hooked. It’s such a lovely palette!

Yesterday I met up with my best friend and look what she got me! I’ve been lusting after Mac Sin for the longest time and she got it for me. It’s even in the Mac Toledo edition packaging, which is so pretty. The color is so stunning and I’m so happy to finally have it. And she also drew me this card! When I first saw it I thought she printed the images out and colored them in but she actually drew everything herself, which I can’t quite believe because it looks so perfect. I wish I could draw like her because I can’t even make a stick figure look cool.

So apart from this I just got a bit of money and some gift cards as per usual. I’m so so happy with everything I received because basically everything was on my wish list! I definitely do have some amazing family and friends.

I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post!

As always much love,

Mac Hot Gossip

Hey you beauties,

let’s welcome the newest family member to my Mac lipstick collection . It’s a beauty, ain’t it? Lately I’ve developed a bit of an obsession with mauve lipsticks. Since I’m a blonde I tend not to wear crazy bright pinks too often because even though they suit me quite well I don’t want to look like a barbie doll and unfortunately people are so quick to label you. Anyway.. totally getting off topic here. I love mauve toned lipsticks because to me they are the perfect neutral pink nude shade you can wear every day. It goes with a lot of make up looks, so when I came across Hot Gossip I just couldn’t help myself and had to get it.

Hot Gossip is in a Cremesheen finish, which I quite like because it feels very moisturizing on my lips and since mine tend to dry out that’s always a plus for me. Now the color is just a dusty pink mauve shade, which is absolutely gorgeous. I think it’s such a flattering shade and I’m head over heels for it. I think I’ve worn this almost every day since the delivery man brought it to my house and I know I’m going to get so much use out of this lipstick.

I think it’s a shade you can wear all year around and it really does go with so many looks, especially rather neutral ones. Since I’m more of a neutral girl by day this is such a perfect shade for me. The only downside I have with this lipstick is that it doesn’t last as long as some of my other Mac lipsticks. But I mostly go for mattes and they definitely tend to last longer on my lips than more creamy formulas. It still lasts a good deal but I don’t mind having to reapply one in a while. And at least it fades away evenly and doesn’t leave your lips looking like a mess, which is always a no no for me.

Basically as you can already guess from my review I’m very happy with this shade and I’n glad I decided to go for it. I love how neutral it is and I think it’s quite a flattering shade for my complexion. If you’re looking for more of a mauve/dusty pink shade you can wear every day and which is easy to pull off go I’d totally recommend this.

Would anyone be interested in reading a Mac lipstick collection post?

Thanks for reading!

Much love,
