Mac Snowball Collection

Mac has always been one of my favorite brands and the one that introduced me into world of makeup. But ever since discovering tons of new brands I don’t buy from Mac as much anymore (still love the brand though) other than my favorite powder and concealer. However, Mac’s special limited edition collections often still draw me in, especially their annual Holiday collections. This year is no different because their Snowball collection is absolutely stunning, so can you really blame me? It’s golden and sparkly!

IMG_3739

The only thing I dislike about their limited collections is that it can be so hard to get your hands on the products you want, because it sells out online so quickly. But I decided to try my luck in stores because I honestly cannot be bothered to check a website every few seconds to wait for the launch of a makeup collection. Yes, I love makeup but there are limits to everything.

I had my eyes set on one of the beautiful highlighters that comes with the collection and one of the lipsticks. Thankfully I got lucky and still managed to get my hands on the two items I wanted, despite many products already being sold out even in stores.

IMG_3740

Mac Snowball comes with two gorgeous highlighters: a golden and a peachy one. I’m super fair, so there’s no way I could ever pull of a peach highlight, but fortunately I was able to get the golden one Happy Go Dazzlingly. It’s still a bit more warm and yellow toned compared to the type of highlighter I typically go for but nonetheless it’s a stunning color. I think because it’s more on the subtle side it makes it a lot more wearable for someone with my complexion. It adds a warm subtle golden glow to your face and really is perfect for the holidays. Plus the packaging is hands down one of my favorites from any of the past Mac Holiday collections. I could stare at it for hours.

IMG_3741IMG_3742

One of my all-time favorite red lipsticks was actually a Mac one, which sadly I lost on New Year’s  Eve a couple of years ago and somehow never re-purchased it. When I saw one of the lipsticks in the Snowball collection is a classic red with blue undertones I knew I had to buy it. Hence I was relieved when I saw they still had the shade I wanted, Rouge En Snow, in stores. It is the most perfect classic red shade for my complexion and it comes in a matte formula (my favorite from Mac). Hence it’s very pigmented and long-lasting! Although I like to wear red lipstick all year round if there’s ever the perfect time for red it certainly is around Christmas time.

IMG_3743IMG_3744

All in all I’m very happy with the items I managed to purchase from Mac’s Snowball Collection. If there’s one more item I could pick up it’d be one of their eyeshadows. Unfortunately the one shade I really wanted was already sold out. Nonetheless I’m quite sure the beautiful highlighter and lipstick will bring me lots of joy throughout the holiday season and I’ll be wearing them all the time. If I can bring myself to use them because they are almost too pretty to touch.

What do you think about the collection? Did you purchase any of it?

Love,

Sophie

Building Up My Mac Palette

One thing I’ve been wanting to own for years now probably is my own Mac palette. If you read my blog or follow my Instagram you might know that Mac Cosmetics is probably my favorite makeup brand if I had to choose (though that almost seems impossible). I’m obsessed with lots of different makeup brands but it’s Mac that was my first more high-end brand that I’ve tried and it’s the one brand that really started my makeup obsession and kind of got me into the world of makeup, so I think that’s why it’s so special to me.

IMG_8276

Now while I have quite the big Mac lipstick collection I don’t really own a lot of their eyeshadows although I’ve really been wanting to build my own palette for a long time now. I’ve recently mentioned that I’m working on the weekends now and I got my first pay check paid into my bank account the other day, which was quite the moment for me to be honest. It’s definitely nice to have some extra money to spend and it feels even better to know I’ve earned it myself. So my dad told me I should go and buy something special before starting to save up. I thought about what I might like and thought why not finally start building up that Mac palette I’ve been dreaming of? So I went online and ordered one of their Pro Palettes. Now I haven’t purchased one of the inlays yet as I’m not quite sure if I want one. I think they do make the palettes look more neat but then again I can’t fit in as many eyeshadow. So I’m still debating on that. Along with the palette I ordered 5 eyeshadows after watching tons of Mac eyeshadow must-have videos on YouTube.

IMG_8279

I already owned 4 regular eyeshadows by Mac before, a limited edition one and two of the new extra dimension eyeshadows, so I depotted my regular Mac ones and put them into my palette as well. And today I thought why not show you the colors I purchased and then maybe I can do some updates once my palette is filled up more.

IMG_8278

Now I’m going to start in the left top corner and work my way done just letting you know what shades I’m owning with a quick description followed by swatches of course.

Shroom

Shroom was my first ever Mac eyeshadow and as you can see it’s also my most used one. It’s a gorgeous shimmery shade, which I mostly use as a brow bone highlight.

Naked Lunch

I think Naked Lunch is a gorgeous light pinky champagne color. I love to use this one all over my lid.

All That Glitters

This one is quite the popular shade and I can definitely see why because it’s such a beautiful rose gold like shade. This is another one that I think looks stunning applied all across the lid.

Woodwinked

Woodwinked is another very popular shade and I absolutely love this one. It’s the most perfect bronzy gold.

Tempted

This one is my second Mac eyeshadow I ever bought and I love this one because it’s a gorgeous shimmery brown with a bit of gold glitter to it.

Espresso

Everyone needs a good matte brown, so I figured this shade would definitely come in handy. Especially for the crease.

Cranberry

Since I always hear everyone going on and on about how beautiful cranberry is for fall eye makeup looks and how it’s supposed to be especially flattering on blue eyes I finally caved in last year and bought it. And boy am I glad I did because it’s stunning and makes my blue eyes really stand out.

Green Smoke

My grandma actually bought this color for me a while back and why I’m not sure I would’ve picked it out for myself I do actually really like it. As the name suggests it’s like a muddy smoky green, that’s nice for a bit of a different smoky eye.

Satin Taupe

This is probably the one Mac eyeshadow everyone seems to own, so obviously I needed to buy it. After trying it out a few times now I can definitely see why as it’s incredibly beautiful.

IMG_8282

(Swatches from left to right: Shroom, Naked Lunch, All That Glitters, Woodwinked, Tempted, Espresso, Cranberry, Green Smoke, Satin Taupe)

Although Shroom and Naked Lunch don’t seem to really show up here on this swatch they definitely do on my eyes.

So these are the shades that I currently have in my Mac palette and I’m very much looking forward to getting more. I’m always looking for good recommendations, so please do let me know your must haves!

Much love,

Sophie

A Little Mac Lipstick Haul

Hey lovelies,

I’ve been such a terrible blogger lately. I barely managed to get one post up per week throughout the last two months and I feel awful about that because I love to blog. I just thought that I was going to be doing so much blogging this summer and now I have one week left before school starts again in September. How am I starting my third year already? I swear I just graduated high school yesterday. In general, my summer has just been a lot more busy than I expected. Because guess who has a job now? Yep, that’s me! I figured since I’m 20 now it would be a good thing to get a bit of work experience so while I’ll be a college student during the week I’ll be working on weekends but no worries I’ll definitely be trying to fit blogging into my schedule. If others can do it so can I, right? But enough about me now.

I’ve been adding so many new makeup products to my ever-growing collection throughout the last 2 months there will be a lot of reviews coming up, so to kick it off I figured I could start with one of my favorite things in the universe – Mac Lipsticks obviously! I always talk about how much I love a matte finish when it comes to lip products, so when Mac launched their new matte lipstick collection I was very very very excited and couldn’t wait to get my hands onto some of the colors. At first I only wanted to get one and wait until I got my first pay check but, you guessed right, I couldn’t wait that long and ended up getting three of them.

IMG_4617

Matte Royal

This is probably the craziest and least wearable shade from the entire collection since it’s blue but ever since the first time I saw this online I knew I had to have it. Although I love my nudes and mauves on most days I can’t say no to a unique color like this. I always go for the crazy ones. So even though every one I talked to about getting this lipstick told me I was insane I went online to purchase it but it was sold out. I was kind of frustrated and ended up randomly ordering Instagator because it was a dark color and I’m a sucker for vampy dark shades. Anyway.. so the next day my best friend and I went on a little shopping trip and when we went to the Mac store they still had it there, so I obviously I bought it! I’m not gonna lie it’s not the most wearable shade but I love it anyway. It’s a lovely blue that has some purple to it. It’s not as pigmented as the other two I bought but it still is quite long lasting and doesn’t dry out your lips

IMG_4865IMG_5240IMG_5031

Instagator

As I mentioned earlier I just ordered this color online because I was annoyed that all the other shades I originally wanted were sold out already. Basically I bought it because it was described as a smoky black purple. That sounded like a cool color to me so before I could think twice I added it to my basket and checked out. Looking back I am so glad I bought this color because it is absolutely stunning! It’s such a dark purple, which makes a lovely color to wear for fall and winter. Honestly, I’m so done with summer right now because I just want fall to start so I can wear this lipstick. I love a dark lip so this couldn’t be more perfect for me because I didn’t own a dark purple before. Since I just kind of randomly decided on buying this color I’m even more impressed with how much I love it. I have a feeling this might become a new favorite.

IMG_4565

IMG_5239IMG_5227

Persistence

When I swatched this at the Mac store I instantly knew this was the color for me. I’m such a lipstick obsessed person even when I don’t wear a full face of makeup you’ll rarely ever catch me without something on my lips. Since I’m quite pale I like nude lipsticks that lean more towards a darker color than very light, so one of my go to colors has been the hyped up Velvet Teddy. It’s without a doubt my most used lipsticks and even though I only got it a few months ago I’m more than halfway finished with it, which is making me very sad. Ever since I bough Persistence I’ve been wearing it nearly every day and I feel like I might even love this more than Velvet Teddy because it’s more of a brown color and slightly darker. It’s just a great color and it makes my lips look so much fuller. But the best thing is that it really lasts! When I wear it to work it lasts so well. I usually apply it around 10.30am because I start at 11.3oam and it lasts until my 30 minute break at 6pm so I only have to reapply it once before I can go home at 8. What more could I want? I’m seriously love with this lipstick!

IMG_5237IMG_5238FullSizeRender

So these have been the colors I’ve picked up from Mac’s new matte collection so far although I’m pretty much 100% sure that I’ll be adding some more. Have you purchased any? Which ones are on your wish list?

Thanks so much for reading!

My Top 3 Mac Lipsticks for A Neutral Lip

Hey lovelies,

I’m back with another lipstick post. Yay! So as you all know I’m obsessed with lipsticks. Especially Mac ones. My collection just never stops growing. Even though I love a bright, bold crazy lip I also like to keep it more neutral at times. Actually I’ve developed a bit of a nude lip obsession recently, so I thought I’d share my top 3 Mac lipsticks for a more neutral lip: Pink Plaid, Velvet Teddy and Twig.

IMG_7430

IMG_7440

Pink Plaid

Pink Plaid is a very soft pink but I still consider it to be more of a nude pink than just a pink because it is so light. It’s a matte finish (my favorite) and therefore it lasts so long, you don’t have to worry about having to re-apply the lipstick. I absolutely love this shade because it’s relatively cool-toned and since I have more of a cool than a warm complexion, I find that this suits me really well. So if you have light hair and fair skin you might want to give this a go. For me this is the perfect lipstick for those days when I want to wear more of a neutral shade but not a totally nude one. With Pink Plaid I can still add a slight touch of color to my make up look while still keeping it causal.

IMG_4117IMG_4215

Velvet Teddy

This is probably one of the most hyped up Mac lipsticks at the moment and it’s sold out all the time but my mom did manage to get a hold of it for me and this beauty has been mine for about 2 months now. Ever since I got this lipstick I’ve been wearing it most of the time and I’ve used almost half of it up already. I just love how much fuller it makes my lips look and it just goes with every single make up look and every occasion. I love how this balances out heavy eye make up but it still looks amazing with a more simple eye make up look because it draws attention to the lips then. Basically I’m wearing this most of the time because I’m obsessed with the shade. Since I’m quite firth wrong nude nude shade makes me looked like I’m ill and can really wash me out but this one doesn’t at all and I know I’m going to have to repurchase it once I run out.

IMG_4290IMG_5258

Twig

Twig is actually the newest member of my Mac lipstick collection but I’m obsessed already. It comes in a Satin finish, which I’m quite happy with because it’s still relatively matte. I find this color fairly hard to describe but I would say it’s more of a dark pink brown kind of nude. Either way it’s just a stunning color.  It’s very pigmented and leaves a beautiful finish on the lips as it’s not entirely matte but not glossy either. Even though it doesn’t last as long as Pink Plaid and Velvet Teddy it still lasts up to 5 or 6 hours. Despite having purchased Twig quite recently I know I will be wearing it all the time because it’s just one of those shades that I love. It’s still very neutral but adds that little something to your look and it makes your lips look fuller. What more could we want?

IMG_7222IMG_7296

So these are my top 3 Mac lipsticks for a more neutral lip. They are pretty much my every day kind of shades and the ones I put on when I want to wear a lipstick but I kinda don’t, if you know what I mean. Sorry for all the selfies but I thought it would be nice to see how they actually look on my lips. They’re not the best quality but I got them off of my Instagram. Nonetheless I still have some swatches for you guys.

IMG_7439

As always I genuinely hope you enjoyed reading this post! What are your top 3 Mac lipsticks for a causal lip?

Mac Hot Gossip

Hey you beauties,

let’s welcome the newest family member to my Mac lipstick collection . It’s a beauty, ain’t it? Lately I’ve developed a bit of an obsession with mauve lipsticks. Since I’m a blonde I tend not to wear crazy bright pinks too often because even though they suit me quite well I don’t want to look like a barbie doll and unfortunately people are so quick to label you. Anyway.. totally getting off topic here. I love mauve toned lipsticks because to me they are the perfect neutral pink nude shade you can wear every day. It goes with a lot of make up looks, so when I came across Hot Gossip I just couldn’t help myself and had to get it.

IMG_3713

Hot Gossip is in a Cremesheen finish, which I quite like because it feels very moisturizing on my lips and since mine tend to dry out that’s always a plus for me. Now the color is just a dusty pink mauve shade, which is absolutely gorgeous. I think it’s such a flattering shade and I’m head over heels for it. I think I’ve worn this almost every day since the delivery man brought it to my house and I know I’m going to get so much use out of this lipstick.

IMG_3716

I think it’s a shade you can wear all year around and it really does go with so many looks, especially rather neutral ones. Since I’m more of a neutral girl by day this is such a perfect shade for me. The only downside I have with this lipstick is that it doesn’t last as long as some of my other Mac lipsticks. But I mostly go for mattes and they definitely tend to last longer on my lips than more creamy formulas. It still lasts a good deal but I don’t mind having to reapply one in a while. And at least it fades away evenly and doesn’t leave your lips looking like a mess, which is always a no no for me.

IMG_3720IMG_3719

FullSizeRender

Basically as you can already guess from my review I’m very happy with this shade and I’n glad I decided to go for it. I love how neutral it is and I think it’s quite a flattering shade for my complexion. If you’re looking for more of a mauve/dusty pink shade you can wear every day and which is easy to pull off go I’d totally recommend this.

Would anyone be interested in reading a Mac lipstick collection post?

Thanks for reading!

My favorite (Make Up Related) Christmas Present

Unfortunately it’s now safe to say that Christmas is well and truly over and New Years Eve is coming up soon. I’ve had a very lovely Christmas but now I’m excited to get back into blogging on a regular basis again. I, personally, genuinely enjoy reading the ‘What I got for Christmas’ posts but they are quite controversial and I definitely understand why. Hence, I decided not to do one but to instead just share my favorite make up item I got for Christmas. In general I got some lovely bits for Christmas but I mainly got money because I’m leaving for London tonight, where I’ll be staying until Friday, so my main wish for Christmas this year was some money, so I can buy lots of make up and other cool things over there.

IMG_1874

But now back to my favorite present, which I actually got from my brother. One of my favorite make up brands has always been Mac. Mac was the first make up brand I ever really fell for, so I consider it to be kind of my first love (make up wise obviously). Each year Mac brings out the most gorgeous holiday collections and one thing I really wished for this year was a set of their pigments and my lovely brother surprised me with one!

I have to admit the first thing that caught my eye was the stunning packaging! I mean, just look at it! It’s so festive and sparkly and just absolutely beautiful! But the pigments themselves are just as beautiful and definitely don’t disappoint. I got the set that includes a mixture of beige and brown pigments as well as some gold glitter.

IMG_1875IMG_1880

This was actually the one set I had my eyes one, so I was more than happy to unwrap this beauty under the Christmas tree. All of the shades included in this set (except for maybe the gold glitter which I will only use for special occasions) are perfect if you just want to sparkle up your every day make up as all shades, except for the brown one, are very shimmery. The brown shade is a dark matte one but can you ever go wrong with a matte dark brown shade? I don’t think so as it’s the perfect shade to use in your crease to add some definition to your eyes.

As you can tell I’m very much in love with this set and all of the pigments. I tried to take some pictures of the swatches but unfortunately my iPhone can’t do them justice. They are way more beautiful in reality!

IMG_1881IMG_1883

As a little side not all of the fur items in this post are faux fur!

What is your favorite gift you received for Christmas this year?

Another Week, Another Haul?!

SAM_5531

If you happen to follow me on Instagram (@ablondesworld) you might’ve seen that I’ve been weak again and bought more make up. Yes, I know in my last haul post, which is sadly just a week old, I promised there won’t be any new make up haul posts coming up any time too soon but, oh well, looks like I’m breaking that promise. I do have an explanation though! Last weekend my best friend and I went out for some make up shopping and I ended up buying a foundation. She wanted a lipstick but couldn’t find one she really wanted (I know I’d never have that problem for sure), so we decided to go to a Mac counter this weekend, which we did yesterday. When we were there one thing lead to another and I came home with a few more things than I intended to buy. I think I need to put myself on a spending ban now. But anyway… let’s see what I got, shall we?

SAM_5504

Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in light

I’ve mentioned this on this little blog of mine what feels like a million times but it’s my holy grail powder and I love it. Unfortunately I used up my old one completely, so I had to get a new one. Makes sense, right?

Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Highlighter in Soft & Gentle

This is probably one of the prettiest little things I own. I absolutely love this highlighter. Clumsy me though, I dropped my old one and it was completely shattered and smashed into tiny little pieces of dust. Trust me, it was a very sad day. Now I finally repurchased it because I just needed this beauty back in my life.

SAM_5517

Mac Eyeshadow in Cranberry

Everyone seems to love this one. It is such a gorge shade for fall and I’ve been wanting to by it for ages but for some reason never did. Now that it’s fall it keeps coming up on my Twitter timeline and many of the blogs I read. Hence I decided to finally take the plunge and buy it after all.

SAM_5521

Kiko Golden Game Sculpting Bronzer in 01 Radiant Honey

The first time I ever went into a Kiko store must have been about four years ago. I’d never heard of the brand before but they nada sale going on, so I grabbed a few things. For some, to me unknown reason though. I never went back. Not a whole lot of people I knew knew this brand and so I kind of forgot about it. Lately Kiko has been pretty hyped up though and getting a lot of attention. I’ve digged up my old Kiko products and remembered, that I actually really liked them, which was quite obvious as well because all of the products were pretty used up. I guess I just never went back for more because they only have stores in bigger cities and not too close to where I live. However I came across one of there stores yesterday and had to go in. Lots of their products have been getting so much love lately and especially this highlighter and bronzing duo has been quite hyped up, so I’m interested ins eyeing how good it really is. Or how well it works for me. The packaging, however, is absolutely stung already.

SAM_5523
SAM_5527

NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee

If you have been following my blog for a while now you might be familiar with my obsession for these lip glosses. I only own two oft them but I just had to add another to my small but growing collection. These are my favorite lip glosses ever atm. I’m obsessed and that’s okay. I even enabled my best friend to get one and she’s not all that into make up.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 611 Yoghurt

Since I loved the NYX butter glosses I thought it was time to branch out and try some more of there products. After looking through the shelves and swatching a few products I opted for this one. I don’t own a lot of eye shadow pencils, which is a shame because they are ideal for lazy days. The color of this one is a pretty light brown with some slightly pink undertones. It’s just a gorgeous color and I can’t wait to try it out.

This concludes my little haul. And when I say there really won’t be another make up haul too son I really hope I mean it this time.

Thanks for reading!

Finding The One (Product)

Hey lovelies!

Today is going to be a bit of a different post but still beauty related. I think for most girls or at least those who are interested in/wear make up it is almost like a life goal to find that one perfect product in, let’s say each beauty category. Now I mean we all want to find that one perfect foundation that will make our face look absolutely flawless or that one amazing mascara that will gives us voluminous long lashes that reach up to the sky. You get the idea, right?

Obviously I can’t speak for everyone but I think there are quite a lot of girls that are probably the same way. Always on the hunt for that one perfect product! The list of mascaras and foundations I’ve tried is quite long. Some have gotten pretty close and others have been an absolute fail. But that’s okay. It’s good to eliminate products as well and trying out different things definitely teaches you a lot. When I first got into make up there weren’t loads of different YouTubers and bloggers to learn from. Or at least it wasn’t that known and when I was 14 (5 long years ago) I hardly spent much time on the Internet to be honest. So when I first started playing around with make up I never even imagined to go on Google and read a review. Yep, that’s how things have changed over time. What I mean is that I had to go through all these products and couldn’t just pass one by because I read a bad reviews about it. I bought most of them based on whether the packaging was pretty or not.

In those 5 years that I’ve been into make up I’ve tried quite the amount of products and some I absolutely loved yet I don’t know if it’s just me but I always have the hope of finding something even better. Especially nowadays because my make up options have grown so much. When I was 14/15 I never would have thought I’d ever spend 50€ on an eyeshadow palette  or 45€ on a blush. I would only buy drugstore brands like Maybelline or Essence and I didn’t even really know about the whole world of high end make up.

But one day my mom took me into a MAC store because I was even paler when I was younger and I could hardly ever find a powder in the drugstore that didn’t make me look all weird and orangy. When I walked into that Mac store for the first time and saw all those pretty shiny products I thought I was in absolute make up heaven. The lady recommended me their Mineralize Skinfinish powder in the lightest shade and I loved it. It hardly felt like I was wearing any make up and yet it made my skin look so perfect. I remember her only putting on moisturiser and a bit of the powder ( I was only 15 so didn’t need all that much).

I’ve used that Mac powder for the longest time. Probably for 4 years but the price kept going up over time and when I became a student and moved and suddenly had the responsibility for everything myself and had to buy my own food and stuff I tried looking for alternatives. I’ve tried out so many different setting powders in the last couple of months and some I even really liked but still I couldn’t find the one that gave me that natural flawless finish my old powder gave me. About a week ago I made myself face the fact that my Mac powder was just the best one for me personally.

As you may have guessed it I went back to Mac and I know this powder isn’t for everyone. We all have different skin so what works for one person might not work for someone else but this powder just really works for me. It’s that one product I know that won’t fail me so whenever I need or want to look my best I can use it because it will do what I expect it to.

My mom made fun of me for getting so excited when it arrived because for her it’s just another powder but I couldn’t wait because it’s that one products that makes my skin look best and makes me feel best about my skin. I guess it’s my holy grail powder.

So do you have any product that just always makes you feel better about yourself? That one product you just keep going back to and you just can’t seem to find anything better?

Sneaky Little High End Make Up Haul

So I have’t blogged in a few days because life has been a little hectic lately and I had some personal stuff going on. At the moment I don’t have time to blog daily because of personal reasons but I hope that I can go back to my usual schedule asap. Please bare with me!

As you may or may not know I’m currently back home from University at my parent’s house. They live in this yeah.. well it’s a tiny small town and when I say tiny I mean absolutely tiny. We’ve moved around a lot and never settled down anywhere until 2009 when my parents decided to buy a house in one of the smallest towns I’ve ever been in. (No idea why?!) I think there are more horses and cows around here than people. It’s nice to be in the country side every now and again but, man, I’m glad I live in a city.  Anyway.. don’t want to bore you guys. My point is that despite living in a small town we do live around 20 minutes away from a pretty big town so it’s not that bad and my mom and I went on a little shopping trip there with my brother. The cool thing is they have a Mac store, which is really exciting to me.

SAMSUNG CSC

I just love Mac and I planned on buying a new lipstick. I’ve been debating whether to buy Mac Morange or not. I absolutely love unique lip colors that not everyone wears (or at least no one where I lived and went to high school for 2 years, cause it’s a small town ya know?). I have bold reds, dark reds, bright pinks. Basically a lot of colors that really stand out but for an unknown reason I’ve always stayed clear of orange. I guess I thought it wouldn’t suit me. But I kept seeing Mac Morange all over other blogs and on Instagram so I just decided to buy it cause I have no will power. Sad, I know. I’ve worn it twice already and yeah I’m in love. It’s such a great color for summer and it looks so good with this kimono I got recently.

SAMSUNG CSC

SAMSUNG CSC

Another thing I got from Mac is the lip pencil in Vino. I got the lipstick Mac Diva not too long ago on my trip in Chicago. I love the lipstick but it stains your skin so easily and when it fades it doesn’t fade equally. Hence I decided to get a lip pencil. I usually don’t really wear lip pencils. I can’t really be bothered to invest that much time and my lipstick usually stays in place but I feel like for Diva a lip pencil is kind of necessary.

SAMSUNG CSC

SAMSUNG CSC

One thing I’ve been dying to try is the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation because I’ve heard so many amazing things about it. Apparently it has really great coverage and lasts all day. I just got it yesterday, so I haven’t actually used it but I’m so excited to try this. This sounds so sad but it will probably be the highlight of my week. Okay this really does sound sad… oh well.

SAMSUNG CSC

Okay guys! HOW ADORABLE IS THIS MINI LIPSTICK? Like seriously how cute is this? Like I can’t even.. like I’m in love.. like seriously in love. Sorry, back to normal writing, but I just can’t get over this mini lipstick. The incredibly nice store assistant that helped me match the Double Wear foundation with my skin gave me this adorable Lancome mini lipstick sample thingy for free. It made me so happy. I think it’s so cute and the color is really pretty. Perfect to fight in any clutch for a night out.

SAMSUNG CSC SAMSUNG CSC

The store assistant was so nice she even gave me a pretty big sample of this really good smelling moisturiser and a purse holder. I think that’s pretty cool. This just shows that there are still some really nice people out there. Sometimes when I walk into a fancy cosmetic store the people working there don’t even look at me and when I ask them a question they react so unfriendly and are so arrogant it’s almost like they are trying to scare away their customers. Anyone else who sometimes has that happen to them?

That’s it already for my little haul. What have you been buying lately?

High End Chicago Make Up Haul

SAMSUNG CSC

Being a beauty blogger from Europe doing make up shopping in the US is like heaven on earth. They just have so many more brands and choices and everything is cheaper. I swear I really had to contain myself to not buy out the entire Sephora (obviously I wouldn’t have had the money for that anyway but a girl can dream, right?). Still I did buy a few things I’ve been wanting for a while now.

Urban  Decay Naked 3 Palette

Apart from the UK and the few lucky countries that have a Sephora Urban Decay is really hard to get and since I’m currently studying abroad in the Netherlands I haven’t had a chance to buy this beauty and now I finally own it. I’ve been using it every day since I got back and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Nars Contour Blush

OMG! My very first Nars product. Nars is another brand that you can only order online in most European countries and it is quite expensive, especially if you add the high shipping cost. If I do splurge on make up I like to swatch it first and have a look at it in real life. At a Sephora I was finally able to check out their blushes and as much as I wanted all of them I did end up getting the contour blush in Olympia as I’ve had my eye on it before.

Mac Lipsticks

My first high end make up product ever was a Mac product. I still remember when my grandma took me to a Mac store and I just fell in love with the brand. I actually kind of consider Mac to be my first love make up wise. So since the lipsticks are much cheaper and I saved 7€ on each lipstick I bought I ended up getting 3. I planned on expanding my Mac lipstick collection because I do love their lipsticks and lipsticks in general are one of my favorite make up items. The choice was tough but I ended up with Diva, Rebel and Relentlessly Red (a friend of mine that came along with me picked this one after swatching tons of lipsticks). I’m in love with all 3 of them.

Benefit Sugarlicious Set

When I spotted this Benefit set I knew I had to have it because it contains 3 things I’ve been dying to try: the High Beam Highlighter, a Benetint and the Sugarbomb blush. It also contains a little lipgloss. I’m more of a lipstick person but you can never go wrong with having a good lipgloss, right?

Benefit They’re Real Mascara

Everyone’s been raving about this mascara, so naturally I’ve been wanting to try it but it’s quite expensive over here. But I took the chance a good a mini version of this at Sephora to try it out. Now the bad thing is that I really like it and I now want the full version.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get everything of my wish list as that would have been much to high a cost but I did end up getting the pieces I’ve been wanting the most, so I’m definitely happy.
