Guest Post II How To: Blake Lively Street Style

Hey there lovelies,

I hope you’re all well! Today’s post is a bit of a special one because I’m about to introduce my very first guest blogger to you! I have never had anyone write a guest post for my blog but when the lovely Remi asked me whether she could write a blog post for me because she loves writing but doesn’t have the time to keep up her own blog momentarily, I loved the idea. My blog has been so focused on beauty lately I love that she is bringing a bit of fashion back. So without further ado here is Remi’s post on Blake Lively’s Street Style.

How To: Blake Lively Street Style by Remi Mayer

A couple of days ago, I saw a photo of Blake Lively in a gorgeous yellow floor-length dress, which inspired me a lot. No matter if she’s walking down the street or the red carpet, her killer style leaves people speechless. Since we all look for a flawless street style in hot summer days, I’ve decided to take a peep at Blake’s wardrobe and present you with her most successful casual outfits. Check them out below.

Style 1: Vibrant and chic

What I like the most about Blake’s style is the manner in which she rocks it. She looks sooo cute and graceful regardless of what she wears. This might seem so because she always makes the perfect balance of the fabrics, colors and prints, which can be seen in this photo. If you need a simple, yet effective look for a walk in the park, maybe you should combine a light floral blouse with a pair of tight jeans and kitten heel booties, just like Blake did. It’s both stylish and comfortable!

Style 2: Casual and cool

Even the most effortless look requires a lot of layering and accessorizing, which Blake showed us in this picture. She made the perfect basis for her casual outfit, combining high-waisted capri pants with a classic black top. Gucci brown leather biker jacket, a super-cute Pandora box bag, a feminine beige chapeau and gorgeous black loafers were the final touch that made this street style simply flawless.

Style 3: Delicate printed pants

Blake knows how to rock cute printed pants, which have filled the shelves of almost all designer clothing boutiques and stores! Such outfits can be ideal for both grabbing coffee with your friends or a fancy dinner, with slight modifications. I like this combination as it brings both a casual and feminine touch to the entire look. She combined embellished Emanual Ungaro bold printed leggings with a simple white tee and pointed-toe pumps in order to achieve a classy effect. If you’re planning to take a walk, I would always recommend replacing the pumps with chic ballet flats that are far more comfortable!

Style 4: Comfy and sophisticated

Personally, I love this combination the most because it’s simple and ultra-sophisticated at the same time. She decided to play with textures and colors, pairing nude zipper shorts with a gorgeous blue V-neck blouse. In order to make the outfit more complex, she went for cute gray peep toe booties and a red leather hobo. Finally, Blake decided to spice the outfit up with accessories, including a beautiful and feminine marine necklace that fitted her entire style perfectly.

Natural look

Achieving a perfect look isn’t just about the latest fashion trends. It’s also about the choice of perfect hairstyle and makeup. This season, natural look is tremendously popular and Blake Lively rocks it perfectly. As you could see from all these photos, her almost no make up look emphasizes her natural and radiant beauty. So, instead of heavy foundation and overly intense makeup, go for warm and natural nuances that will make your skin fresh and glowing.

All in all, achieving a Blake Lively look isn’t that complicated at all. I’ve decided to go with these street style ideas because they are easy to achieve and, at the same time, they look sophisticated and glamorous. Enjoy!

The Liebster Award

I got nominated for the Liebster award by The Beauty Bunny. Thank you so much! I really enjoy reading your blog.

I just started blogging about a month ago, so this is a really nice surprise. It’s so cool to know that some people actually read what I write and even enjoy it. Before I bore you all with my ramblings tough I’m going to answer the questions now.

  1. Which country are you from and what do you love most about that country? I was originally born in Germany, but I’ve lived in the States for a while and I’m currently living in the Netherlands. What do I love most about Germany? That’s a tough question and I honestly don’t know. It is a pretty cool country but I want to live in an English-speaking country later. Preferably the US or the UK. This might sound weird but I feel more comfortable speaking English and even though I was born here I don’t feel German at all most of the time. Maybe because my family moved around a lot. Most of the people I know have lived in the same place all of their lives, so they speak certain dialects, which I sometimes don’t even understand. Since I’ve already lived in 9 different cities in 3 different countries in my short life of 18 years, I don’t really have a hometown or a region where I come from. I guess what I love most about my country is my family and friends. And my dog of course.

2.   Which beauty product can you not live without? This is a tough one but I’d probably go with my MAC mineralize powder, because it creates flawless skin and I’ve been using it for years now.

3. Which fashion item can you not live without? HIGH HEELS! Compared to most of my friends I’m rather short, so I’m wearing some sort of heel almost every day. Apart from that, believe it or not, I walk better in heels than in flats.

4.  Which store would you most likely max out your credit card at? There are so many great stores. I really have a lot of favorites but one of my favorite designers is Michael Kors. I’m obsessed with his purses, so I’d probably buy them all if I had the chance to.

5. Who is your style icon? I don’t really have a fashion icon. I just walk into a store and buy whatever I like. I don’t really care if others like it and I don’t go with every trend. Only if I’m really into them. I know yellow will be the new black this spring but I also know I won’t be buying even a single yellow item. I hate the color and it just doesn’t suit me. But yeah I don’t really have a fashion icon. I don’t even read any fashion magazines to be honest.

6. Which spring/summer/winter/autumn trend did you love the most in 2013? I really liked the faux fur coats and vests this winter. I’d never want a real fur anything because I love animals but I really like the look of it.

7. What is your morning routine? I have a really hard time getting out of bed in the morning, so most of the time I get up way too late, throw on my clothes, put on some make up and rush to class.

8. Why did you start blogging? I’ve always enjoyed reading other people’s blogs and I’ve always been into fashion and make-up. A lot of my friends love borrowing my clothes, I’ve been asked to do their make-up so many times and my professors at University encouraged us to start a creative project like writing, so I’ve decided to start a blog for my project. Apart from that I just like having a little space, where I can speak out my thoughts on certain topics with a chance, that some people might even read it and I think I just want to inspire people to be who they are and not change for anyone.

9. Which blog posts do you most enjoy reading? Obviously I like reading about fashion and make-up but I also like poetry and basically any blog post that has a good message to it or something important to say.

10. Which celebrity would you date without even thinking twice? Probably Zac Efron. He is perfection to me. That brown hair and those gorgeous blue eyes…

So these are my answers. Hope I didn’t bore anyone.

Now I nominate Glitter Bananas and Leah’s Fashion Blog because I really enjoy reading their posts.

The rules for The Liebster Award:

1. Thank the person who nominated you and link to their blog (please!).

2. Dig in and answer the 10 questions given to you by the nominee before you.

3. You must nominate 10 (or as many as you like) of your favorite blogs with fewer than 200 followers (on their blogging platform/site) and notify them of their nomination.

4. You must come up with 10 (preferably entertaining!) questions for your nominees to answer.

And my 10 questions are:

1. Why did you start blogging?

2.  If you had 3 wishes what would you wish for?

3. Which country would you most like to travel to?

4. What are your three favorite beauty products?

5. Do you prefer heels or flats and why?

6. Which beauty product do you always carry with you?

7. Lipstick or lip gloss?

8. Do you have a role-model and if so who?

9. If you could buy any product from any brand what would you buy?

10. What is your dream job?

Wow, this is a really long post but I hope y’all enjoyed it anyway.

Lost and Found: My Very First Pair of Heels

It is not unknown that most girls have an estimated amount of millions of shoes. Females are just known for being obsessed with shoes. I wouldn’t particularly call myself a shoe fanatic and compared to many females I probably don’t have many shoes but the ones I do have I take much care of. Especially since I don’t just buy any shoes. My feet are very sensible so I tend to save some money and invest that in more expensive shoes that are of good quality.

With about 5 ft 4 1/2 I’m really not that tall. Almost all of my friends are at least a few inches taller than me and now that I go to college in the Netherlands I feel shorter than ever. People there are freaking tall! That’s exactly the reason why I tend to wear heels so I don’t look like a dwarf next to everyone else.

Just like probably every girl I still remember buying my very first high heels though they weren’t really that high. I’m originally from Europe but I’ve lived in Louisiana, USA, for a while when I was a 15-year-old. There I attended a private High School and just like every typical High School we had school dances of course. So when I was 15 I went to my first High School dance; the Homecoming Dance. I was wearing this gorgeous  dress and I got the cutest shoes to go along with it. I was in love with them. Although I was only 15 I felt like such a woman. After all I was buying my very first heels. Guys probably won’t understand this but for most girls wearing heels for the first time is like being one step closer to growing up and becoming a woman.

I have always kept my first high heels but suddenly I couldn’t find them anymore and that made me really sad. They were my first and I wore them to Homecoming so they bring back a lot of good memories.

After 2 months I finally found them in some old box in the very back of our basement. You cannot imagine how relieved I was. Now they are in a very special place in my closet next to my most precious heels. This way I hopefully won’t lose them again.  Anyway.. this just inspired me to dedicate a post to my very first high heels.

My little babies

Am I the only one that’s this sentimental or do you girls still remember your first pair of heels and what occasion you bought them for?

Much love :)

Just Some Little Things

Yesterday I have told you guys all about my stay in London and today I’m going to show you some of the things I bought during my stay. Lucky for me there were many sales in almost every store I went in. Still I didn’t buy that much because I’m trying to save more money rather than spending it all. It’s my New Years Resolution and I’m really curious how long it will last.

it was raining and very story so the umbrella I brought unfortunately got killed by the British weather, so I had to get a new one. Besides it rains quite a lot in the Netherlands as well and since I’ll be returning to Holland on Sunday to take my final exams of this semester before my 2nd semester starts a new umbrella will come in quite handy.

Isn't it adorable?
Isn’t it adorable?

Since it was cold and windy my ears were freezing and I sure didn’t want to catch a cold. Usually I’m not much of a hat person but I fell in love with this one and it was on sale. That’s always a good argument.

Just like every other tourist I had to get some souvenirs from a gift shop so I bought some key chains that I can now put next to my Eiffel Tower and the Empire State Building.

As I might have mentioned before I am just a little bit vain when it comes to my hair and I love love love wearing bows or cute headbands. What’s very unfortunate though is that not many people seem to wear that around where I’m currently living ( I don’t really care about that) but that makes it pretty hard to find cute hair accessories that aren’t meant for little girls. In London there were so many stores with adorable hair accessories so I just had to get some.

That’s it already. I just wanted to get a few things that would remind me of the great time I had in London and I believe I found some good stuff.

Have an amazing day everyone :)

Starting 2014 with the Perfect Outfit

Now sadly Christmas is officially already over, which makes me feel a little depressed because it’s basically my favourite time of the year but at least we still have New Year’s Eve to come! The last few years I was always massively excited for New Year’s Eve and it was always a rather big disappointment so this year better be amazing because I have planned something amazing!

I will be celebrating into the new year with my best friend in LONDON! I am beyond excited! So far I’ve only been to London once but just for a day. This time I’ll be staying for 5 days.

Since this year I want my New Year’s Eve to finally be really awesome I’m definitely going to need the perfect outfit and I’m pretty sure I’ve found just the right one.

The week before Christmas I was doing some Christmas shopping for some friends when I spotted this beautiful dress and fell in love with it right away. Lucky for me it was on sale so I just couldn’t help myself. I had to buy it.

I just love this color

Since it’s probably going to be very cold and I will be spending quite some time outside counting down the hours until the 2014 before hitting a club I have my fur jacket to keep me warm. Now for all the animal lovers out there.. this fur is NOT REAL! I am a totally animal lover myself and I would never ever ever wear real fur but I just love the look of it.

The jacket is grey so I thought I’d wear my new grey heels with it. They’re not too high and very comfortable. I guess i’ll be wearing them all night so comfortable shoes are quite important.

Of course I’m going to need a little purse to carry all my necessary belongings with me. I chose this silver/golden one.

and one more last photo of some accessories.

So this is going to be my perfect outfit for my perfect New Year’s Eve.  I’m already beyond excited and I can’t wait for my trip to London. I’ll be leaving early Sunday morning.

I hope all of you will find your perfect outfit to shine in!

Much love!

Sparkly Outfit for the Holidays

So we’re still on Christmas break and my family has decided to end off Christmas by going to a fancy restaurant. Now the question is always: WHAT TO WEAR?  You don’t want to be overdressed and definitely not underdressed.

Here’s an idea from me.

I’m wearing this party dress tonight but I’m going to turn it into an appropriate outfit for a restaurant by adding a few accessories.

One of my favourite dresses

I decided to match a pearl bracelet with it to make the outfit look more sophisticated.

Of course the right shoes are alway important! Since I’m going to a restaurant I decided to go with a low heel.

Since the dress is strapless and that might be a little cold I decided to wear my sparkly little black jacket with it.

As for the hair and make up…. I kind of wanted to create a messy hair look so I washed it and put it up in a bun right after to make it a little wavy. I also put one part of my hair like this Photo on 26-12-13 at 06.26 pm #3

I’m a fan of red lipstick and since it looks good with this dress I decided to go with red lipstick but a light eye make up.

No, my eye lashes are not fake!

So this is my sparkly and festive outfit for the holidays. I hope you guys like it. Let me know what you think!
