The Best Things About Fall (in my opinion)

So October is really here and fall has now officially begun! It’s just crazy how fast time is flying by. It feels like I just returned from my summer vacation yesterday but now it’s already October and my first midterms are coming up. Crazy times.

If you would ask me what my favorite season is I couldn’t really give you a concrete answer because I feel like there are great things about any season and I can’t ever decide. When it’s cold and winter I want it to be warm and summer and when it’s warm and summer I’m wishing for cold winter, so I can wear my favorite knitted sweaters. Anybody else got that problem or am I just weird like that?

Anyway… I absolutely adore fall. I have some of the best fall childhood memories, which is why I’ll probably always be excited about fall. In today’s post I’ll be sharing my favorite things about fall with you guys as you might’ve been able to guess from the title. Well, here we go!

Hot Chocolate with Marshallows

I’m not the biggest person on hot drinks. I stopped drinking coffee a while ago and the only tea I really enjoy is green tea. But I love me some hot chocolate and especially with marshmallows. It is just such a delicious treat. When it’s really cold outside and you come home and make yourself some hot chocolate and cuddle up with your favorite blanket to watch a good movie… perfection!

Knitted Sweaters

Knitted sweaters are an obsession of mine. I keep buying new ones every year as soon as the weather’s slightly cooling down. They are just so cozy and warm and comfy and perfect. How can you not love them?

Halloween

I love horror movies. I don’t know why because I get scared so freaking easily. My brother loves to jump up behind me and scare me to death all the time but I still am obsessed with horror movies. I even watch them by myself. Like literally completely alone and in the dark! Insane, I know! So  I guess it comes as no surprise, that  I love Halloween. I don’t know why but I find the whole spooky thing just so fascinating.

Crafting

When I was younger my mom would always do so much crafting with my brother and me. Since the weather got colder and we couldn’t play outside as much anymore we would make hot chocolate, get some cookies out and sit around our big kitchen table, making our own DIY fall decoration for the house or just anything crafty and artsy really. I’m not the most talented, when it comes to crafting but I had the time of my life anyway. I wish we’d still do that! Maybe I should suggest it but nowadays my brother’s caught up with school and I have lots to do with University classes.

The Nature

I just love how the leaves changes colors. In general I just love fall colors. The pretty dark reds and green and orange. It’s just so nice to get my dog and go for a walk through the forrest. Everything just looks so pretty.

Dark Lips

Last but absolutely not least I love dark lips. Being obsessed with make up I just love wearing my dark reds and purple lipstick during fall and winter season. I just like they way the look with my pretty pale skin.

So these are my favorite things about fall! Are you excited it’s finally fall? What are your favorite things about this season?

Pink Beauty – A Fall Favorite

Quite a lot of my recent post are revolving around fall but fall is officially here and one of my favorite seasons. Now some people like to change up their make up depending on what season it is and I’m definitely one of them. While I love bright pinks in the summer I tend to store them away once the days get shorter and the nights get darker. During fall and winter I totally love a darker lip. One of my favorite shades especially in fall is a darker pink berry kind of shade. Hence I thought I’d share one of my favorite lipsticks for fall with you guy. And guess what? It’s really affordable as well.

The lipstick I’m talking about today is the Maybelline ColorSensational in 190 Atomic Pink. I’m quite the fan to the colorsensationals in general as I’m in love with their formulae. They aren’t exactly matte but not too glossy either and they feel super moisturizing on the lips. I know I get really dry lips once it gets colder, so I think it’s nice to have a lipstick that moisturises as well. As much as I love my Mac matte lipsticks they sometimes require too much effort. At times you just want to smack on a bit of color without having to worry that your lips are turning into a total mess because you didn’t moisturise them enough. With this lipstick you’re definitely on the safe side because it doesn’t stick to any dry patches.

But now let’s talk about the actual color of this lipstick. How gorgeous is this dark pink shade? I think it’s beautiful. In my opinion it’s the perfect berry shade, which makes it the perfect lipstick for fall because I love berry shades during fall. I don’t know what it is about that color but I think it’s so fitting for fall. I adore dark red lips as well but I tend to wear those more towards November or the winter months (with a few exceptions here and then) Here’s a little swatch for you guys.

And this is how it looks on the lips.

If you’re looking for a nice berry shade for fall I can only recommend this one. The shade is beautiful, it’s fairly long lasting, affordable and I think it’s a shade that would suit a lot of people.

What are your favorite fall lipstick shades?

A Small Fall Make Up Haul

SAMSUNG CSC

Hey Lovelies! I’ve been picking up a few make up items lately, so I thought I’d pick out my favorite and do a bit of a first impression haul mix post. So here we go!

The first thing, which might also be my favorite from this haul, is this beautiful Essence Hello Autumn multi color powder. Just look at it. I’m in love with the design of the pretty little leaves. It’s so adorable. I’ve used it a few times now and I really like it so far. Sometimes I use this instead of blush and just swirl it up and apply on my cheekbones. I love how it functions as a highlighter but still gives my cheeks a very slightly bronze. Of course you could also dust this powder lightly all over your face to get a bit of a bronzed and glowing complexion.

Next up are these two beauties. The one on the left is the Catrice Limited Edition Metallure Metallic Marbled Eyeshadow in Metalight. Yep, that’s an obnoxiously long name but the eyeshadow itself is gorgeous. Because it’s a marbled eyeshadow it looks a bit different evey time I use it but in general it’s like a shimmery champaign shade I would say.

The one on the right is the Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadow in 030 We Are The Champaignes. I’m not entirely sure why this is called liquid because it’s not but it’s definitely a metallic shade. I’d say it’s more of a golden than a champaign color but it’s beautiful anyway.

Last but not least I got this Maxfactor Lip Infinity in Dazzling Cocoa. I don’t really have any brown lipsticks and I like the concept of this. First you apply a darker lip color, which looks like a gloss but basically is a liquid lipstick. After it dries of you put the gloss on top. It’s incredibly long lasting and I love the colors for fall.

So what have you guys been buying?

A Fall Eye Make Up Favorite

SAMSUNG CSC

As much fun and colourful summer make up looks are my favourites are definitely more fall and winter. I’m more on the pale side, so I love how in fall and winter pale skin is totally normal (not that it wouldn’t be otherwise) but what I mean is that I don’t feel like a ghost compared to my perfectly tanned friends. I actually really like the look of fair skin with more neutral eyes and a red lip in fall and winter.

So today it’s all about a casual and super super easy eye make up I’ve been a bit obsessed with lately. You only need a few products and it’s so easy and fast to do, meaning it’s perfect for every day. Especially because it’s super causal.

Basically what I do is I pick any lighter brown shade and apply it all over my eyelids. The eyeshadow I’ve used in this picture is Nooner by Urba Decay. Then I take another brown color a few shades darker and apply that in my crease and outer v. Then I blend it really well so you almost can’t tell it’s there. I want this to be really natural, so it’s supposed to just add a bit more definition to my eyes. Next I use any highlighting shade along my brow bone.

Now it comes to a tiny bit more tricky part. Applying eyeliner. Usually I go for deep black gel or liquid eyeliner but I want this to be really soft, so I’ve lately gotten into brown pencil eyeliners. My favorite one at the moment is the Urband Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil in Demolition. Demolition is a dark brown shade, which is gorgeous. The eyeliner itself is so long lasting and a dream to apply because it’s so soft. It doesn’t smudge and stays in place all day. It’s pretty much all you would expect from a good pencil eyeliner. So what I do is I apply my eyeliner along three quarters of my lash line leaving out the corners of my eyes. Then I apply it halfway along the waterline. I love this as it gives definition to my eyes and brings out the blue in them but it still looks much softer because of the brown. Last step is whatever mascara you like!

Lately I’ve really become a fan of some classic dark brown pencil eyeliner and this is how I use it. I think it’s perfect for a casual fall every day make up look. What do you think?
