Smashbox Full Exposure Mini Palette

IMG_1083

Before I say anything else, let me just say that this is the tiniest and cutest little nude eyeshadow palette I’ve ever laid my eyes on. It’s so tiny and so adorable and I can’t get over how cute it is. Now with that being said, the Smashbox Full Exposure Mini Palette is a tiny version of the regular Full Exposure palette. It contains 8 shades consisting of 4 shimmer shades and 4 mattes.

But first let’s talk about the packaging. The eyeshadows come in a sleek little black compact packaging. I knew when I ordered it that it was going to be small because it’s a mini version but I do have to admit I didn’t expect it to be this small. However, I do love the size. It’s so small it will probably fit into your wallet! It’s size makes it absolutely perfect for traveling or when you’re on the go.

Basically this little beauty combines all the basic shades you could ever need. The 4 matte shades offer a nice brown, a pale pinkish beige, a light highlighter and a taupe shade that is perfect for the crease. I was so impressed with how creamy the matte shadows are. They feel so soft and creamy and are a dream to blend.

The shimmery shades definitely don’t disappoint either. There’s a beautiful shimmery bronzed shade, a golden beige, a shimmery champagne like shade and greyish silver. The shimmery shades aren’t as creamy and soft as the matte ones but they’re still beautifully pigmented and blend nicely. I think this is a first for me but for one I actually prefer the matte shades in a palette.

Basically the size isn’t the only thing that is amazing about this palette. I’m absolutely blown away by the matte eyeshadows. Not that the shimmery ones aren’t good, because they are, but the matte ones are just incredible. I’m in love with their texture.

I think this could be a perfect little gift for anyone that loves nude eyeshadow palettes (because you can literally take this one with you wherever you go. It fits in every purse, I’m sure). Then it could also be good for anyone who doesn’t own a lot of palettes and just wants some basic shades because this palette has all the basic shades you could possibly want. With Christmas coming up I think this would be a lovely little present and I’ll be giving one of these as part of a present to my mom for Christmas this year. I’m already so excited to see what she thinks of it and I really hope she loves it as much as I do.

Thanks for reading!

Palette Lovin’

It’s pretty safe to say I’m a lover of palettes! Palettes are just awesome. You get a wide variety of different shades all in one little box, that you can take with you wherever you go. Imagine you would have to travel somewhere and could only bring singular eyeshadows. The amount of eyeshadows you’d have to take.. yeah let’s not get into that.

Now there’s one palette in particular, that I’ve been obsessing over. It’s the Makeup Revolution Ultra 32 Eyeshadows Flawless palette. I know, there’s been a lot of reviews of this palette floating around the blogosphere lately but I’ve been loving this palette so much I just really wanted to write my own. Sorry!

I think in the UK you can get this for around 8 pounds and I think I paid around 10€ or maybe 12€, when I ordered it from their website, because they do ship internationally.  I think the incredibly affordable price is one plus already, and it’s one of the reasons I needed to try this because most of my palettes are high end so  was really curious how this would compare. But of course that wasn’t the only thing. When I saw the shades online I thought they all looked incredibly gorgeous and I couldn’t spot a single shade I wouldn’t wear.

Now that I actually have it in front of me, I still think the same thing. There’s not a single eyeshadow in this palette I won’t get any use out of. They’re all beautiful shades. The palette actually offers quite the wide variety as it includes warm nudes, soft bronzed shades, stunning metallics as well as mattes and all you need for a smokey eye. One of my favorite things about this palette is how it includes nude shades, so it’s perfect for a natural every day look but it has a lot of darker shades that are perfect for a smokey eye and more of a nighttime look. Plus it also includes shades as navy blue, a dark smokey green and coppery reds, which I quite like as you can experiment a bit with those.

IMG_0883

The shades in general all match together so well and I think it’s the perfect palette for fall and winter due to the colors it includes. I’m especially impressed with the metallics considering how incredibly pigmented they are. The mattes in this palette aren’t my favorites as they aren’t as pigmented and some of them don’t really show up that much on my eyelids. However that only includes about 3 shades. The rest of the palette is almost flawless to me.

I’m really impressed with the high quality (apart from some of the matte shades) and I’ve been using this palette on a daily basis. I just love how it’s so versatile and you can do everything from a plain to a glittery party look. I can definitely recommend this palette and it’s one of my absolute favorites at the moment.

Have you tried any of the Makeup Revolution palettes? Which one should I get next?

Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Palette

SAMSUNG CSC

About a month ago I added this little beauty to my make up collection and I’ve absolutely been loving playing around with it. I knew that I wanted to get one of the Too Faced palettes but I originally wanted the Natural Eyes one. After thinking about if for a while and looking at the different palettes I did, however, went with the Boudoir Eyes one because I already have quite a few pallettes including lots of natural eyeshadows and this one still has neutrals but with a bit of a twist.

But first let’s talk about the packaging. I mean, how adorable does this little gem look? The palette has quite a girly and cute design and it comes in a metallic box. It’s not big and chunky, which makes it quite perfect for traveling. I’m such a sucker for pretty packaging and Too Faced as a brand seems to always have some of the prettiest things out there. Just looking at their products makes me want to buy them all. I know that’s bad but I just can’t help myself.

When you open the palette the eyeshadows are divided into sections ranging from highlighting shades to really dark shades. The pallet comes with a little guide book, that gives you tips or inspiration for make up looks but once you remove the little booklet you find a little mirror under it. The size of the mirror isn’t all that amazing and there are palettes that come with better sized mirrors but it’s definitely enough for checking your eye make up or for touching it up.

Now on to the important things. The actual product! I pretty much love all of the shades this palette has to offer. The range goes from highlighting shades to neutrals to dark ones, you can use perfectly for a smokey eye or evening make up. Another plus is the great quality of the eyeshadows. They are so easy and soft to apply, which makes them really blendable. None of them has been irritating in any way and I have quite sensitive eyes, so that’s always good.

Moving on to the different shades:

In The Buff

This is a nice highlighting shade though not my favorite as it can be a bit chalky and yellowy looking but on certain skin types this would be perfect.

Satin Sheets

This might be one of my favourites from the palette. Satin Sheets is a bit of a peachy gold shade with a bit of shimmer to it. It’s absolutely beautiful and perfect for an every day make up look.

Birthday Suit

Birthday Suit is more of a champaign bronzed shimmery shade, which is a really pretty shade for a very natural look.

Fuzzy Hand Cuffs

This one is a light brown matte eyeshadow, which is great for in your crease if you are going for a very soft look and only want to create a bit more definition.

Sugar Walls

Sugar Walls is a bit similar to birthday suit but a few shades darker.

Lap Dance

Lap Dance is another darker shimmery brown, which is great for within your crease and looks so pretty when you blend it out.

Voulez-Vous

This one is such a unique shade. It’s a bit of a greyish dark purple. I really love this shade because you can create the perfect somkey eye with this and it adds a little bit of a twist with the dark purple.

Garter Belt

This one is more of a greyish brown and mother matte as well. Another grade shade for an evening eye make up.

French Tickler

French Tickler is another shade I think is so cool. It’s black but it contains these gold shimmer particles, which makes it such a unique black in my eyes. I also love to use this instead of an eyeliner when I’m going for a softer look.

I know I’m not the best at describing eyeshadows but I hope this still is a little helpful. Now I have some swatches for you. Some colors were a bit harder for my camera to pick up but I hope you can still get a good idea of what the different shades look like. The shades are in order of my description.

SAMSUNG CSC

To sum it all up this palette is definitely one I would recommend. The packaging is lovely, the eyeshadows are of good quality and since the palette is quite handy it’s great for traveling or when you go stay over night somewhere as the shade range allows you to go from a natural every day look to a fancy evening look in no time.
