NOTD – Little Dose of Rose

IMG_8346-0

So today I’m posting my first ever nail related blog post and that is pretty special to me for a good reason. I actually used to bite7pick at my nails a lot, sometimes even until they would start bleeding, whenever I would get nervous or felt anxious. My nails used to look really disgusting to be honest and I was always pretty ashamed of them but nothing could make me stop biting them for years no matter what I tried.

When I applied for a job in retail in August, because I wanted to earn a little extra money on the weekends, I knew that I really needed to change something about my bad habit. Before my job interview my mom tried as much as she could to make my nails look halfway decent, which was definitely quite the challenge. I ended up getting the job, so then I definitely knew that I needed to somehow break my bad habit. I’m not really sure how I managed to do it because I’ve been trying to stop for years but somehow I just did and my nails now look pretty decent and healthy again, which I’m so happy about.

So for today’s post I thought I’d just show you one nail polish I’ve been totally obsessing over ever since purchasing it. When it comes to makeup I know my stuff but not so much when it comes to nail polish because I haven’t been able to wear any in years. The other day I was browsing the aisles of my nearest drugstore and stumbled up the Catrice Cosmetics Luxury Nudes nail polish in 08 A Little Dose of Rose.

When my nails were finally long enough for me to paint them again I was really excited to try out lots of different colors. One colour I’ve kind of been on the hunt for is a pretty soft pin that is perfect for everyday and just makes your nails look really pretty. However a lot of the pink polishes I came across were a little to pink or too light for me until I found this one. This is the exact colour I’ve been looking for and what I love most about it is that it dries to a matte finish.

I’m a total Instagram addict and I spend so much time just looking through pictures of makeup, outfits and nails. I don’t know how people take such great pictures of their nails because I’ve really struggled. Nonetheless I tried to take some pictures of the polish applied on my nails, so you guys can see what it looks like. Now I’m not that good at painting my nails yet and they are not as long as I want them to be but I think I’ve done an okay job for now. I’m definitely working on it and I’m so glad I can finally make use of my nail polishes.

I would definitely recommend the Catrice nail polish because it’s so easy to apply and it looks so beautiful. I honestly never thought I’d get so excited about a nail polish.

So since I’m not exactly an expert when it comes to nail polish please let me know your favorite brands, finishes and colors so I can put together a little list of what I need to get.

I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post!

A Small Fall Make Up Haul

SAMSUNG CSC

Hey Lovelies! I’ve been picking up a few make up items lately, so I thought I’d pick out my favorite and do a bit of a first impression haul mix post. So here we go!

The first thing, which might also be my favorite from this haul, is this beautiful Essence Hello Autumn multi color powder. Just look at it. I’m in love with the design of the pretty little leaves. It’s so adorable. I’ve used it a few times now and I really like it so far. Sometimes I use this instead of blush and just swirl it up and apply on my cheekbones. I love how it functions as a highlighter but still gives my cheeks a very slightly bronze. Of course you could also dust this powder lightly all over your face to get a bit of a bronzed and glowing complexion.

Next up are these two beauties. The one on the left is the Catrice Limited Edition Metallure Metallic Marbled Eyeshadow in Metalight. Yep, that’s an obnoxiously long name but the eyeshadow itself is gorgeous. Because it’s a marbled eyeshadow it looks a bit different evey time I use it but in general it’s like a shimmery champaign shade I would say.

The one on the right is the Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadow in 030 We Are The Champaignes. I’m not entirely sure why this is called liquid because it’s not but it’s definitely a metallic shade. I’d say it’s more of a golden than a champaign color but it’s beautiful anyway.

Last but not least I got this Maxfactor Lip Infinity in Dazzling Cocoa. I don’t really have any brown lipsticks and I like the concept of this. First you apply a darker lip color, which looks like a gloss but basically is a liquid lipstick. After it dries of you put the gloss on top. It’s incredibly long lasting and I love the colors for fall.

So what have you guys been buying?

Thanks for reading!

One Random Haul

Hey everyone! I just finished my last exam  2 hours ago and I can now go back to a regular life schedule. YAY! Exams are just the most stressing thing for me, so I  cannot tell you how happy I am that it’s finally over. I get to have a social life again and actually some sleep. How awesome is that?

Anyway.. I didn’t write this to bore you with my busy student life. Just like most girls I always find an excuse to shop whether it’s because I passed an exam, failed one, I’m homesick or just see something I totally need. I always come up with an excuse, so of course during 2 weeks of exams I had to buy a few things to prevent me from going insane. Apart from that there’s a drugstore right next to the supermarket I like to go to for my grocery shopping, which makes it really hard to not buy something. And since I am guilty of buying quite a few things I though I’d do a little haul for you.

Catrice Cosmetics Cover Stick & Concealer

The concealer is, besides the Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder, the only thing I bought intentionally. I was looking for a new concealer and I recently posted about this brand I discovered and how much I loved their blush. You can read my review here. Since all of their products are so affordable I decided to give them ago, which is why most of the products featured in this haul are from Catrice Cosmetics.

Catrice Cosmetics Primer

I ran all out of primer, so I went to get a new one. I was in a rush and didn’t pay much attention, so I ended up being a primer for color correcting. Luckily I don’t suffer much from redness, which is why I can’t get much use out of this product. I had to go back and get a different, one which I’ve been using for a week now and I totally love it.

How gorgeous are these colors? I’m in love. For those of you who’ve been reading my blog for a while, you might know how much I like the color green and especially mint green. I don’t really own a lot of green eyeshadows because my eyes are blue and I tend to use colors, that make my eyes stand out more but I couldn’t go past this beauty. I absolutely love the colors and you can create some really pretty make up looks with it.

Catrice Cosmetics Defining Blush Sunrose Avenue

Since I loved their blush so much I got another one. This is like a brownish reddish kind of color. It’s really pretty and a very warm color.

Catrice Cosmetics Lipstick & Nail Polish Another PinkPanther (Limited Edition)

Catrice Cosmetics are currently having this line of spring beauty products, where these two cuties are from. I absolutely love the pastel pink shade. When I first tried out the lipstick I wasn’t to fond of it but the more I tried it out the more I liked it. The nail polish is just gorgeous. It’s a really girl color because it’s a very light pink but I love that it is very shimmery. I just think it’s perfect for spring.

Obviously I didn’t get these in a drugstore but I just adore them so much I had to share them with you guys. I seriously cannot wait to wear these this summer. I have a feeling they’re gonna become one of my faves.

Hope you liked this post! Happy Friday!

The Perfect Blush For Traveling

IMG_2913 IMG_2911

For those of you, who might not know it, I’m currently studying abroad in the Netherlands and since brands differ from country to country it’s really interesting to discover new brands. Hence I recently paid one of the most popular drugstore brands over here a visit and between many familiar brands ( Maybelline, Rimmel London, Loreal etc) I’ve spotted this brand called Catrice Cosmetics. They had a wide variety of all kinds of products for a very very cheap price. Since I was in need of a new blush I picked up one to give it a try. The one I bought is number 060 Strawberry Frappucino.

I cannot tell you how glad I am, I gave this brand a try. I’m in love with this blush. It includes four different colors starting with a very dark brown reddish color up to a very light pink almost creamy color. You can either use them separately or swirl them all together to create a nice pink color.

The pigmentation is just right. Not too strong and not light and it lasts all day. It comes in a little packaging that is very handy because it fits just into the palm of your hand.

The reason why this is so great to take with you when you’re on the go is because of the dark color and the light one you can leave the rest of your conturing products at home and just use this one. The very light shade functions perfectly as a highlighter.  For 2.99 this is an absolute bargain.

I’ve done a little research on Catrice Cosmetics and their products are currently available in Germany, The Netherlands, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland and a few others. If you happen to live in one of these countries you should definitely give this brand a try if you haven’t already.

I’m going to try out more of their products for sure.

Have a great Monday! XX
