Blushing Beauties

Hey guys,

how have you all been lately? I’m finally done with all of my exams for the most part, so I can get back to a more regular blogging schedule! I’m so excited! I can’t wait to write some more lifestyle posts now that I have the time but for now I’m back with another review of two beautiful Chanel blushes.

I’ve been using both of them for weeks now and totally in love although the are almost too beautiful to use. Do you ever have that problem when you buy a really nice make up item and it’s so pretty you don’t even want to use it but then you kind of spend a little fortune on it so it’s too expensive to just be sitting there on your vanity? I have this all the time because I just can’t say no to pretty make up. I know! It’s a problem! Anyway… these are actually my first Chanel blushes. So far I’ve only owned a view lip glosses and lipsticks and some eyeshadows but I never really looked much into their blushes because for high end blushes I love Nars and Mac and I think there are so amazing drugstore blushes out there like Milani. I love using blush and the way it really can make a difference to your face but I don’t go as crazy about them as I do with lipsticks and eyeshadows if that makes any sense.

When I saw Chanel’s spring collection and dissevered the Blush Camelia Rose blush it was love at first sight though. However, those blushes are quite expensive so I was head over heels when my brother got it for me for my birthday in March. The other blush I’m going to talk about is the number 170 Rose Glacier, which my Grandma so kindly got for me, so let’s get right to it.

Camelia Rose

I think it is pretty self-explanatory why this was love at first sight! Just look at this blush. It is probably one of the prettiest make up items I have ever seen and definitely the prettiest one in my collection. It’s so pretty that I barely even touched it for the first few weeks because I just thought it was too pretty to use and my brother was already getting a bit confused why I was never using it and thought I didn’t like it. But now on to the actual product. As the name already kind of suggests it’s a beautiful soft pink rose-colored like shade. As you can see from the picture the blush itself is made up out of two colors, a darker pink and a very light one. I usually swirl my brush through both colors and mix them together as the light one is so light it is more of a highlight then a blush. But if you use the tow colors together you get a beautiful cool-toned soft pink with a slight shimmer although this blush is definitely more on the matte side. I think the pigmentation is just right for this blush because it is more of a subtle color for a really natural look. Even though this is blush really does remind me of Spring it’s definitely one you can use all year around, whenever you’re going for a really soft and natural look but still want some rosy cheeks.

170 Rose Glacier

While visiting my Grandma in late April this year she took me shopping and obviously we ended up at a make up counter because my grandma knows me well. After lusting over all the beautiful products we ended up look at Chanel blushes and swatched a few. My grandma and I both loved Rose Glacier with my skin tone, so she bought it for me. I swear, she just spoils me way too much.

Okay, so Rose Glacier is an absolute little stunner. It actually reminds me a bit of Nars Orgasm because it has that same beautiful gold shimmer to it but while Orgasm is more of a peachy pink Rose Glacier is more of a cool-toned pink. Even though it is more cool-toned the golden shimmer in it adds warmth to the blush again and it really brightens up your complexion and gives you the most gorgeous rosy cheeks with a golden glow. When applying this I’d definitely recommend using a light hand thought because this blush is insanely well pigmented and you don’t want to end up with super bright pink cheeks. Or maybe you do but I definitely don’t!

As always I have some swatches for you. The first one on the left is Rose Galcier and the second one is Camelia Rose. You ca definitely see the pigmentation here but the swatch for Rose Glacier really does not do it justice because it has much more of a golden shimmer.

I’ve definitely been loving both blushes and am really glad that I have them in my collection and they really make me want to add some more Chanel blushes and not only because of their beautiful and luxurious packaging. Both blushes I’ve tried so far are just stunning shades with good pigmentation that are easy to blend and last well. What more could I want?

Do you own any Chanel blushes? What are your thoughts? Which shades would you recommend?

Much love,

My Top 3 Pink High End Blushes

Despite winter not really wanting to go away just yet as it’s still cold and rainy and I’ve barely seen the sun lately, I still have my hopes up that Spring is on its way. During the last two weeks we’ve had a few beautiful sunny days and even though they have been rare that hopefully will change soon. I love winter but I’ve well and truly had enough of the cold and I can wait for the days to get warmer. During the winter months I prefer more berry toned and darker blushes in general but once Spring rolls around I can’t wait to get out my pinks and peaches. Since according to the calendar Spring has officially began (even though I haven’t seen much of it yet) I thought I’d share my current top 3 pink blushes with you to get us in the mood for Spring.

Guerlain Rose Aux Joues 02 Chic Pink

I got to add this lovely blush to my collection thanks to my grandmother who gave it to me for my birthday last year. First off it just has the most prettiest perfect packaging ever. It’s so gold and shiny I don’t even want to touch it. I’ve written a full review post on it last Spring but it’s still one of my favorites and most used pink blushes so I just have to mention it again. The blush is a duo that comes with two stunning shades, one being a very light soft pink and the other one being more of a dark pink. Both look stunning on their own even though the light one is not as pigmented and only adds a touch of rosy shimmer to your cheeks. However you can also mix both of them together or apply the dark one first and just add a bit of the lighter color as a highlight. Either way this blush is one of my Spring favorites because it just reminds me of flowers and sunshine for some reason.

Mac Well Dressed

I feel like I keep mentioning this on my blog a lot but it’s pretty much my favorite blush. I don’t want to say it’s my absolute favorite because considering the amount of blushes I own that’s quite a bold statement but it’s a blush I’ve had for ages and I still love it just as much as when I first got it and I use it all the time. Basically it’s just a staple in my make up bag. To me this is the most perfect every day soft pink. I tend to wear this all year round however I use it mostly over the Spring and Summer months. It’s really nicely pigmented and blends so perfectly.

Nars Orgasm

Now Nars Orgasm is a blush everyone seems to know and love. It’s very hyped up in the beauty world and I definitely see why. It’s more of a peachy golden pink but it’s just the most gorgeous color that suits so many complexions so well. With this blush a little really goes along way as it is just so pigmented. But luckily it blends really well. I love how this is the perfect amount of shimmery and it just adds the most perfect peachy pink golden glow to your cheeks and really lights up your complexion.

As always I have some swatches for you but since the lighting is still pretty crappy because of the bad weather and I used my phone, they really don’t do them any justice. But at least I tried and you get a bit of an idea of what they look like, right?

(Swatches from left to right: Guerlain, Mac, Nars)

So these are my top 3 pink high end blushes which I will be using a ton in the upcoming months. I’ve had all of these for at least a year  and still adore them but then again I always love going back to old favorites.

What are your favorite pink blushes? Any recommendations?

Have a lovely Sunday!

Much love,

Milani Baked Blushes in Luminoso & Berry Amore

Happy Friday, everyone!                                                                                                                               I’ve made it through the first week of my 4th semester and I’m so glad it’s finally the weekend because it was one heck of a first week. Since yesterday was quite the heavy, personal post I figured it was time for another review! Now I’ve just mentioned the 2 Milani blushes (in the shades Luminoso & Berry Amore) in my January favorites but these are at the very top of my favorite blushes at the moment, so I thought it was only fair to dedicate an entire post to them as I have developed a serious obsession with them.

After trying and loving my first ever Milani Blush (Corallina) I decided to get two more and opted for the shades Luminoso and Berry Amore because some of my lovely readers have suggested them to me, so thank you so much for the recommendations as I’m in blush heaven right now.

According to Milani these beauties are sun-baked on Italian terracotta tiles and they are very buildable from sheer to vibrant, adding warmth and color to your complexion. Sounds pretty perfect, doesn’t it? Well, I think their description is pretty honest and true. The blushes are buildable and you can achieve different finishes with them from sheer to very vibrant as they blend so easily. The texture is very velvety and feels so nice and silky on the skin. At first glance the blushes might look very glittery and shimmery but once applied they give you more of a nice glowy complex, so even if you usually prefer matte blushes I would still recommend you to try these.

I would describe Luminoso as a very light peach with a bit of a golden shimmer to it. It’s a very stunning shade and I can totally see why it was recommended to me. It really gives you that glow from within look and adds a lot of warmth to my complexion. It’s just stunning and an easy go to blush because it’s perfect for an every day more casual looks.

Berry Amore

Judging from the name I expected this to be a very vibrant darker berry tone when indeed it is more of a subtle light and cool-toned berry shade. It has very finely milled golden shimmer particles to it, which once again add a beautiful healthy glow to the skin. Despite it being more of a subtle color it can definitely be built up and it really gives you this naturally flushed look we all aim for.

To sum it all up Milani blushes have won my heart over! I can’t seem to find a flaw with them. They come in a pretty packaging, they are affordable and they give you a naturally glowing, radiant and healthy complexion. What more could you possible want? I can’t really think of anything right now.

As always I hope you enjoyed today’s post and thank you so much for reading!

Sleek Blush By 3 in Lace

If you’ve seen my London make up haul you might recognize this little blush palette. You might also remember that I bought it by accident (I actually wanted a different one) and was a bit shocked by the bright colors because I didn’t expect them and I usually stick to might soft pinks and corrals when it comes to blush. But since I spent my money on this I thought I might as well just give it a go and see what happens and I have to admit I’m actually really glad I ended up with this palette.

Sleek is quite known for their highly pigmented blushes and these are by far no exception, which scared me even more at first because these colors are so out of my comfort zone. So if you’re not familiar with the blush by 3 sleek palettes.. well basically you get 3 stunning and very pigmented blushes in a handy sleek looking little packaging, which is perfectly sized for on the go and traveling.

Let’s start of with the first shade. It’s called Crochet and it’s a rather light but still very bright matte orange. I’m a lover of soft peachy shades but I’ve never tried a blush like Chrochet before. I always thought oranges would never suit my skin type as I’m quite pale. Nonetheless I’ve used this blush a few times now and I have to admit that I do like it although it’s not my favorite in this palette. The good thing about this blush is that you can really build it up, meaning that you can also make it look very subtle. I really like the way it warms up my complexion but I do think this would be an even better shade for anyone with a nice tan or if you have a darker skin complexion anyway.

Now on to the shade in the middle, which is by far my favorite shade from the palette aside from the fact that I have no idea how to pronounce it. Good thing I don’t have a YouTube but just a blog so I can type it out. It’s called Guipure and it’s the most beautiful stunning rose gold with a hint of peach. This blush is the only shimmery one in the palette and it’s very universal. I’d say it would look good on almost everyone. Unfortunately the camera didn’t really pick it up but it gives you the most stunning shimmery glow and it’s perfect for an every day look.

Last but definitely is the shade Chantilly, which is a bright dark but matte corral and the one shade that scared me the most after swatching it. It is just such a loud shade and I usually never go for bright blushes. I always keep it fairly natural so this one was definitely a bit of a challenge for me but after testing it out this is the blush that surprised me the most from this palette. It is very bright but you can play it down a bit and blend it to create more of a subtle look. This might be a color I’ll be pulling out in the summer a lot for a fun and colourful look. So in the picture on the left I applied it a bit more heavily while on the right it’s very subtle.

Have you tried this palette yet? What are your favorite sleek blushes!

Have a lovely weekend!

NYX Powder Blush in Taupe – The Perfect Contour for Pale Skin?

Contouring alone can be quite tricky already but if you’re more on the pale side (like me) using the wrong shade can easily turn your attempt of defining your cheekbones into an orangey, muddy nightmare. Now, the NYX powder blush in the shade taupe is incredibly hyped up because apparently it’s the perfect shade to contour with for everyone, who is pale. Since I’m pretty pale and have a constantly growing love for the brand NYX anyway I decided it was time to finally test out the blush myself and see if it’s really worth the hype.

First off the packaging obviously isn’t the fanciest but NYX is a high street brand and as long as you get good quality for a reasonable price I don’t mind the packaging too much. It’s still quite handy for travelling as it’s not too chunky. And in the case of this blush the price is pretty much unbeatable.

One big plus I absolutely love about this blush is that’s it’s not that pigmented. If you contour, it can sometimes be very easy to go over the top but then having to go back trying to blend everything out can take forever and be very annoying. That’s exactly why I prefer using a product that is not too pigmented because it’s always easier to build up the contour then applying to much at once and having to blend blend blend.

The one thing that makes this blush most suitable for pale skin is the color though. Taupe is, like the name already suggest, a greyish cool toned  matte taupe shade, which creates the perfect most natural looking shadow on your face. The fact that it does create such natural shadows really does make it a great option for contouring.

I’ve been using this to contour for a few weeks now and I can honestly say it’s worth the hype. If you’re pale and are looking for an affordable yet good product to contour with this is the one you should go for. I find myself reaching for this all the time!

Have you tried this blush? What are your thoughts on it?

A Coral Beauty

Milani is a brand I’ve been dying to try out because of their baked blushes, which look absolutely stunning. They must be one of the prettiest blushes I’ve ever seen in the drugstore beauty world! Seriously, just look at them! How freaking gorgeous are they?

I’ve been seeing these little stunners all over Instagram and I have to admit their pretty design is the one thing that made me get one myself. Don’t judge! I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s attracted to sparkly and shiny things like a moth to light.

Looking through the different shades I went for Corallina, which is the most gorgeous coral shade, as the name already suggests. It is incredibly pigmented and adds the most beautiful orangey coral glow to your cheeks! However, it’s not your typical coral because it’s quite vibrant and intense compared to the usually subtle coral I own. I love how this includes the most stunning golden glitter but once applied to your cheeks it blends away really nicely and gives you more of a natural finish. It really gives you that glow from within and kind of lights up your whole complexion.

I’m absolutely blown away by this blush and I now know that it doesn’t just look just pretty in the packaging but it’s also an amazing product! I’m pretty sure that I’ll soon be buying more shades as I’m seriously in love with this one.

Have you tried any of the Milani Baked Blushes? Do you have any recommendations which shade I should try next?

Much love,

An Old Favorite – Mac’s Well Dressed

IMG_3913 IMG_5552 IMG_1459

It’s another Monday but for once this one’s not too bad because I have my very final seminar of the semester today! Whooop Whoop! Tomorrow I have one more exam and then I can go home for Christmas. I literally can’t wait. But today I don’t want to talk to you about Uni. Today’s post is all about an old favorite of mine – Mac’s Well Dressed as you might have been able to guess from the title.

I’m not sure whether this was my first ever blush or my first blush by a more high end brand but I’ve had it for the longest time now and I’ve been loving it ever since I first applied it to my cheeks. Well Dressed is the most gorgeous subtle soft pink that gives you this really naturally flushed look. In my opinion it’s the most perfect blush for a causal every day make up look.

In general I already prefer powder blushes but this one really tops them all. It just feels so soft and velvety and perfect. The pigmentation is just right. It’s pigmented enough but not so much that it’s easy to go overboard and it blends like an absolute dream. It was one of my first ever blushes and it’s definitely a great blush to start out with because it suits a lot of skin colors and a subtle pink should be a part of every blush collection.

As you can see from the picture mine is quite dirty but also very well loved! I can only recommend this gorgeous blush and it’s definitely a favorite of mine that’ll never get old.

Heart-Shaped Drugstore Beauty

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now you might have come across this little beauty several times but I’ve never written an actual review on it so considering that I’ve been liking it so much it’s only fair if it gets it’s own blog post! The blush I’m talking about is the Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts in Peachy Keen Heart. Quite a long name there.

First off the packaging is the cutest thing ever. I love how it comes in this little heart-shaped box. Such a stunner, right? It might not be the best for traveling as it takes up quite a bit of room in my makeup bag but since it’s so pretty I don’t even mind.

If I remember correctly Makeup Revolution currently offers 3 blushes, 2 bronzers and 1 highlighter within the Blushing Hearts collection. All of them look beautiful but I decided to go with the peachy one as I’ve developed a little obsession with peachy blushers lately.

What I love about this blush is that it basically offers you 3 beautiful shimmery shades or you can swirl your brush through all of them and mix them up to get the most perfect golden peachy pink glow on your cheeks.

The shade all the way to the left is the most gorgeous light golden peach. It’s stunning and might even be my favorite out of all three. The shade in the middle is a beautiful rose gold  and definitely the most pigmented. The shade on the right is quite similar to the one on the left but it’s darker and maybe a bit more on the orange side. All three shades are very pigmented and incredibly shimmery as they have a bit of a frosty metallic finish and they contain glitter particles as well. Now this might sound incredibly glittery but it adds the most beautiful not over the top glow to your skin.

Here are swatches from the shades left to right and one of them all together all the way to the right

This has been an absolute favorite of mine ever since I got it and I think I might have to get my hands on the highlighter and bronzer as well when I’m going to England again in a few weeks! These shades are just gorgeous, add the prettiest peachy glow and they are quite long-lasting. What more could I want?

Perfectly Pink Flushed Cheeks

I bought this little Sleek Blush By 3 palette quite some time ago, when I went to the UK in August last summer. I had heard so many great things about the Sleek blushes before, I just had to try them, so I thought why not try one of their  palettes? I did and I ended up picking up one called Pink Lemonade.

This palette comes in a compact black little box and contains, as the name already suggests, 3 different pink blush shades, two being powder blushes and one being a cream blush. One thing that I really like about the packaging is that it comes with quite the big mirror, which always comes in handy for traveling.

Now, I really don’t know why I haven’t mentioned this one on my blog earlier as I’m absolutely loving this blush palette. Some people might say pink blushes are more suited for spring and summer but I actually quite like them during the winter time. Mainly because I usually skip out on blush during summer and go more for a bronzed look or I go for a more peachy blush.

But back to the actual palette. I really love how versatile it is as all blush shades differ immensely. First off Pink Mint is a rather sheer baby pink. It’s quite cool toned and contains some lovely gold glitter particles. It’s very pigmented but I think it’s perfect for pale skin as it is quite sheer after all. But you can always build it up of course.

Macaroon is the cream blush of the palette and definitely a cool toned pink as well. It kind of reminds me of a Barbie pink. It’s very pigmented but still very easy to apply as it blends perfectly even when you just use your fingers. I love how creamy the texture is and it has an amazing staying power. You can either use it on its own or if you want to add a bit of shimmer, you can apply either of the other two blushes on top of it, which will also prolong the wear.

The last shade is Icing Sugar and it’s more of a coral/slightly orange pink. It’s insanely pigmented and has a very metallic like shimmer as it has a frost finish. This one is my personal favorite from the palette because I love how it warms up my complexion and I love the golden shimmer it adds to my cheeks.

I’m definitely really impressed with this palette and those blushed really deserve all the praise they get. This December I’m already going back to England (I’ll be in London over New Years again. Yaaay) and I have a feeling I might try to get my hands on some more sleek blushes. Any recommendations?

As always thank you so much for reading! Also, I just noticed that I’ve hit 400 followers here on WordPress! Thanks so much to everyone that is reading my little blog, commenting or liking a post. It genuinely makes me so happy and I appreciate it so much!

Peach Perfect

One beauty product, that seems to be quite underrated to me by many people is a simple blush. Blush, if you apply it right, can make such a huge difference to your makeup look it is beyond me, why you wouldn’t use it every day. Okay, maybe I’m a bit biased because I’m pale and a blush is the only way to add a bit of color to my otherwise pasty complexion. And then again there’s is not much worse than a girl with sharpie like bright pink streaks on her face apart from maybe bad contouring or bad brows?

Although I love my pinks and berry and browns I’m head over heels with peach blushers at the moment. When you think of the color peach you probably don’t think of fall and winter right away. In fact you probably are much more likely to think of spring and summer but something about that light peachy dust on my cheeks just really gets me right now.

One blusher I’m particularly loving right now is the Gosh Cosmetics blush in the shade 42 Melon. This is my first product from this brand and I’m so glad I gave it a go. I’ve seen their makeup in my local drugstore a few times but never tried any of their products because I haven’t heard much about them if I’m being honest. I’ve been wanting a more neutral blush for every day, so when I saw this lovely peachy blush I decided to give it a whirl. Boy, am I glad I did.

I’ve been using this blush almost every single day since buying it about two weeks ago (no lie!) The shade is just the most perfect subtle peach shade, that brightens and warms up your complexion. If I was to do an every day makeup routine this would be the blush I’d include in it because it’s just so perfect for a simple every day look.

Not only am I obsessed with the color though but also with the formula of this blush. It is quite pigmented and very long lasting but it’s also feels so soft and creamy despite it being a powder blush.

So here’s a little swatch.

And this is how it looks applied on my cheeks. I’m sorry this isn’t the best picture but I’m currently back to taking my blogging pictures with my phone but I’m hoping you still get a decent impression of what it looks like.

I know this is quite the raving review and I honestly didn’t expect so much from this products as I’ve never read a review on their blushes but I’m pretty much blown away, because I can’t find a single thing I dislike about this beautiful blush.

Have you ever tried anything from Gosh Cosmetics? Any recommendations for what I should try next?
