The Body Shop All In One BB Cream

When I heard about the new BB Cream from the Body Shop I kind of had to have it. I still love my Garnier BB cream but I really wanted to try this one, so I went to the next store and got it.

What’s really interesting about this is that the cream comes out in a white shade that is supposed to turn into your skin color when you blend it all over your face. At first that made me a bit hesitant because I’ve tried out a BB cream like this from Loreal and I absolutely hated it because it turned me orange. I read through some of the online review and some people said it turned really orange on light skin, which immediately reminded me of my horrible experience with the Loreal BB cream. Still I was really curious and bought it anyway. I got it in the lightest shade possible and I do have quite fair skin but it honestly didn’t turn orange on me at all.

This is how it looks right out of the tube:

And this is how it looks blended on my skin. Can’t detect any orange. Can you?

So do I like it? Yes, I really do. The Body Shop claims that this All In One BB cream will adapt perfectly to your skin tone and give your skin an even finish. That is exactly what it does. It really matched up with my skin tone pretty perfectly and it is really easy to blend. Just as a heads up you really don’t need to apply much of it so use it in small amounts. It gives a light to medium coverage, so it does cover up any minor blemishes. Should you however have really bad break outs or if you are suffering from acne keep in mind that this is meant for light coverage. Hence it will not work miracles and give you perfect skin. I often hear people, who use BB cream, say that they don’t cover all of their break outs. They are not meant to. BB creams are supposed to cover minor blemishes and give you an even skin tone. If you want high coverage you need to go for a high coverage foundation.

I know I will be using this BB cream a lot this summer because it is so much lighter than a foundation and it won’t clog up my pores.

What is your experience with BB creams? Do you have a fave?

My Beauty Essentials for Every Day

Happy Saturday everyone!

So as I have mentioned in my last post I’m going on a 6 hour bus ride to London early tomorrow morning. Today I’m all busy with packing, which seems to be taking forever. I suck at packing because basically I want to bring half of my wardrobe but of course that wouldn’t fit into one suitcase and I already know I won’t even wear half of the things I pack but anyway… you need to be prepared for every situation, right?

Apart from clothes, make-up is quite important for me. I  don’t want to look all worn out when arriving in London or anywhere else so I always carry a little make-up bag in my purse wherever I go.

It contains all of my necessary products for an everyday look. I personally prefer a natural look for my every day make-up. A lot of girls at my University wear really heavy eye make-up and bright red lipsticks to class but I just don’t see why. I think a natural look is much prettier, so I like to use products that emphasise the features of my face that I like best. I don’ t want to cover everything up. On a night out I totally like red lipstick or a more dramatic eye make-up. Just not during the day and especially not in class. That’s just my personal opinion. Anyway….

So here’s a list of my favorite everyday products that I can’t live without:

Since I prefer a natural look I don’t wear an actual foundation but I use Miracle Skin Perfector by Garnier. I have tried many different BB creams by different brands but this one is by far my favorite. My skin is incredibly pale so most BB creams make me look orange, which is obviously not to color I’m aiming for. One product I can’t leave the house without is my Mineralize Skinfinish Natural by MAC. This mineralizing powder works absolute wonders and makes my skin look flawless and refreshed. I also tend to keep a concealer close by in case I get dark circles because no one wants to look tired.

I don’t wear eyeshadow every day but if I do I tend to go with shades of beige and brown since they’re earth tones and look more natural. This palette is definitely one of my favorite products I’ve bought so far. It’s no.39 out of the Chanel ‘Les 4 Ombres’ Collection, so I’ve invested quite the amount of money into it but I haven’t regretted it once so far. 2

The Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara by Lancome is my absolute favorite mascara. Luckily I was blessed with rather long lashes already so this mascara gives my lashes even more length, definition and volume. I’m in love with it.

Eyeliner is not a product I use every day though I do use it pretty often. My personal favorite is the Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner by Maybelline New York.

The Soft Sensation Lip Butter by Astor is my current favorite lip product. Why? Because it combines all 3 type of lip products. It’s got the texture and color of a lipstick, the shimmer of a gloss and it moisturizes your lips like a lip balm. Plus it comes in many great colors. I currently own 3 but my favorite is this nude color.

I love how it gives your lips a glossy simmer that almost looks natural and it also keeps them moisturized at the same time. How cool is that?

Last but no least I always carry bobby pins and a hair tie with me.

With these products in my purse I’m all set to go wherever I please and always look my best (hopefully).
