2015 Beauty Favorites

How is 2015 is already coming to an end? Seriously, I feel like the years are just flying by. Where is the time going? Anyway it’s definitely been a year with lots of ups and downs for me and I’m excited to see what 2016 has in store.

But before I’ll be partying into the new year tomorrow night it’s time to put together all of my favorite beauty products of 2015. I think most of these I’ve actually purchased in 2015 but basically these are my most used and loved products of the year.

Let’s start with the lipsticks!

I think Tom Ford’s Indian Rose is the perfect product to start off this little list with because I bought it in the very beginning of 2015 when I was in London celebrating NYE last year. It was also my first ever Tom Ford product. Indian Rose is a stunning dusty rose every day kinda shade and has definitely become one of my go to’s this year.

Next up is Velvet Teddy. I couldn’t write this post without including this beauty. Yes, I gave in to the hype and eventually managed to get my hands  on this lipstick and I’m so so glad I did. This has probably become my most used lipstick of all time this year because it’s nude perfection! I’ll have to repurchase this soon.

The last lipstick I’ll be including in this post is Mac Sin. I’ve been wanting this lipstick for the longest time and it was always sold out but then my best friend got it for me for my birthday and I was absolutely over the moon! I’m a sucker for dark vampy lipsticks and this is one of my absolute favorites!

The Naked 2 palette has been out for a while but I only got my hands on it this year! I now own all 3 of the Naked palettes plus the Naked Smoky and the Naked On The Run palette and I think the Naked 2 is the one I use the most (except for the original Naked palette which I only got this Christmas). I guess this is my favorite because the colors go best with my complexion and eyes.

This is another item that cannot be missing on this list because I’ve used it so many times ever since I got it this July. Honestly, I never believed I would get this much use out of it but it currently is one of my most used and loved palettes and I can only recommend it.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills palette has definitely become a staple in my makeup bag this year. While I’m not too big on contouring a subtle contour is definitely something I like to do for special occasions or when I have too much time! Basically this palette is all I use for contouring and I wouldn’t know what to do without it anymore!

This Makeup Revolution blush palette does not only look stunning but its such a great product as well. All the blushes are so well pigmented and just look so gorgeous!

Oh Chanel, you always have me swooning over your gorgeous makeup! Just look at these blushes! Do I even need to explain myself?

While I’ve been buying more and more high end makeup the MaxFactor blushes have blown me away this year! I adore them and have used them so many times I’ve already hit pan on one of them. Basically I think they are such great products especially considering the affordable price.

Finally to round off this post my last favorite of 2015 is my Zoeva Rose Golden brush set. I absolutely love Zoeva brushes. This is my second set and I use these every single day. And they are rose gold! What more could you want?

What were your favorite makeup products in 2015? Make sure to let me know so I can try them in 2106!

I hope you all have a great NYE and I wish you all the best for the new year!

Much love and until 2016,

Welcome to Heels & Lipstick

I fell in love with blogging the first time I typed up a post. My blog has become a very important part of my life and it has blessed me with a bunch of amazing opportunities. I’ve met some of the loveliest people through blogging. As soppy as it sounds but my blog has changed my life for the better.

Nonetheless I haven’t really had much motivation to blog lately. I used to constantly think about blog post ideas and snap pictures all the time. Now I only ever get a few posts up a month, which kind of upsets me because while I’m feeling uninspired and not very happy about my blog, I miss blogging at the same time!

So I decided it was time for a change starting with a new name. Yes, I’m rebranding! I’ve been thinking about changing my blog’s name for a while now because I’ve been quite unhappy with mine and then a few nights ago it hit me. Two of my absolute favorite things in the world are high heels and lipstick, so why not put them together? Hence my blog’s new name is now Heels & Lipstick. I think it also goes quite well my blog’s general theme.

Anyway, I’m really looking forward to get my head back int the blogging game!

I’d also like to take this opportunity to genuinely thank every single person that reads and comments on my blog! It honestly means so much.

Lots of love,

A Lip Gloss I’m Ditching my Matte Lipsticks For?

If given the choice I would probably always go with my beloved matte lipsticks but lately I’ve come across a lip gloss, which has entirely changed my life. Okay, maybe I’m being a little overdramatic but if you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know I’m all about lipstick and all about the mattes! You will hardly ever see me anywhere without some kind of product on my lips but 99.9% of the time it will NOT be a lip gloss as I’m usually not too keen on glosses. Don’t ask me why it’s just personal preferences.

I think the only gloss I have ever raved about on my blog is the NYX butter gloss, which I genuinely do love. Only quite recently I discovered that NYX came out with Intense Butter Glosses. Since I loved the original butter glosses I couldn’t help myself and before I knew it I had pressed the confirm order button and one was already one its way to me.

For some reason when buying glosses I’m always drawn towards the neutrals, so the shade I went with is number 11 Tres Leches. While I have absolutely no clue how to pronounce this I do know that I’m blown away by this color. It’s honestly the perfect nude gloss. It was love at first swatch!

Just look at this beautiful color and don’t even get me started on the pigmentation! I am seriously so impressed by how pigmented this gloss is! In my opinion it’s so perfect for everyday and goes with pretty much every makeup look. Since I often tend to go a bit dramatic and overboard with my eye makeup, once I start it’s so hard to stop, I think this is the perfect neutral color to even everything out.

Also I love the formula. I think compared to the original butter glosses these feel even more moisturizing and tad thicker. But what’s most important to me is that these are not sticky because I cannot deal sticky glosses!

As you can see in the picture below these are very similar in packaging to the butter glosses. Basically the only difference is the shiny top part. As always I’ve included a picture of how it looks like on the lips.IMG_2453

So as you can already guess I have found a new favorite lip gloss and I have a feeling I’m going to purchase this in a few more colors! I think these are such nice glosses because they are insanely pigmented, quite long lasting, non-sticky and have I mentioned how good they smell?

Are you a gloss or lipstick kinda girl?

Purple Vibes with Hairchalk.Co*

Hey lovelies,

I’m back with another hair related post today. So I have never actually dyed my hair even once in my life before and especial no crazy colors. I’ve just always been quite happy with my natural hair color and I guess I’ve never been brave enough to let any other color even near my hair.

So when the lovely people from Hairchalk.Co sent me some hair chalk to try out I was quite excited because it gave me the opportunity to play around with some color without having to commit as it’s not permanent.

So I went for a set of colors that has some blue and purple in it because I thought those kind of colors would suit me best. Eventually I used a dark grey first and then added some purple. But let’s not get ahead of myself.

You can use the hair chalk anyway you want, so you can go for an ombre look, just color some strands of your hair or do a kind of dip dye effect. Just let your creative energy flow and play around with the colors.

In order to use them you have to dip the chalk you want to use in water for a little bit and then you’re ready to go and you can apply it directly to your hair. It’s fairly easy.

As you can see I went for more of a dip dye effect. If you happen to follow me on Instagram you  might know I tend to go for messy waves most days. Since it’s fall well practically winter now I thought pairing a dark lip with a bit of purple look pretty cool.

Now the most important question is how long does it last? Well, if you’re like me and you’re not the bravest when it comes to bold hair don’t be scared because you can wash the color out so easily! I just used my regular shampoo and conditioned my hair and it was back to my regular blonde.

Basically I think this hair chalk is perfect for festivals, if you’re dressing up or if you just want to play around with some color and I’ve had so much fun trying it.

So what do you think? Does the purple suit me? Have you ever used hair chalk? What other colors should I try?
