If you’ve seen my London make up haul you might recognize this little blush palette. You might also remember that I bought it by accident (I actually wanted a different one) and was a bit shocked by the bright colors because I didn’t expect them and I usually stick to might soft pinks and corrals when it comes to blush. But since I spent my money on this I thought I might as well just give it a go and see what happens and I have to admit I’m actually really glad I ended up with this palette.
Sleek is quite known for their highly pigmented blushes and these are by far no exception, which scared me even more at first because these colors are so out of my comfort zone. So if you’re not familiar with the blush by 3 sleek palettes.. well basically you get 3 stunning and very pigmented blushes in a handy sleek looking little packaging, which is perfectly sized for on the go and traveling.
Let’s start of with the first shade. It’s called Crochet and it’s a rather light but still very bright matte orange. I’m a lover of soft peachy shades but I’ve never tried a blush like Chrochet before. I always thought oranges would never suit my skin type as I’m quite pale. Nonetheless I’ve used this blush a few times now and I have to admit that I do like it although it’s not my favorite in this palette. The good thing about this blush is that you can really build it up, meaning that you can also make it look very subtle. I really like the way it warms up my complexion but I do think this would be an even better shade for anyone with a nice tan or if you have a darker skin complexion anyway.
Now on to the shade in the middle, which is by far my favorite shade from the palette aside from the fact that I have no idea how to pronounce it. Good thing I don’t have a YouTube but just a blog so I can type it out. It’s called Guipure and it’s the most beautiful stunning rose gold with a hint of peach. This blush is the only shimmery one in the palette and it’s very universal. I’d say it would look good on almost everyone. Unfortunately the camera didn’t really pick it up but it gives you the most stunning shimmery glow and it’s perfect for an every day look.
Last but definitely is the shade Chantilly, which is a bright dark but matte corral and the one shade that scared me the most after swatching it. It is just such a loud shade and I usually never go for bright blushes. I always keep it fairly natural so this one was definitely a bit of a challenge for me but after testing it out this is the blush that surprised me the most from this palette. It is very bright but you can play it down a bit and blend it to create more of a subtle look. This might be a color I’ll be pulling out in the summer a lot for a fun and colourful look. So in the picture on the left I applied it a bit more heavily while on the right it’s very subtle.
Have you tried this palette yet? What are your favorite sleek blushes!

Have a lovely weekend!
When it comes to eyeshadow I’m a glitter girl all the way. Now when I’m talking glitter I don’t mean super sparkly disco ball looking like glitter but shimmery metallics or eyeshadow with a pearl or velvet finish. I hardly ever use mattes and hence don’t really own a lot. While I was in England a little while back I stumbled upon this Makeup Revolution Essential Mattes palatte while I was actually looking for their Essential Shimmers palette. Unfortunately that one was sold out, so I went and took a closer look at the Essential Mattes palette. Since it’s only 4 pounds and I don’t own a lot of mattes I figured it would actually be a lot smarter to go for this palettes as it claims to include all the essential matte shades you will ever need.
I’m incredibly surprised by myself but I’ve been reaching for this palette almost on a daily basis. Usually I switch my makeup look up all the time but I’m currently home working on a lot of stuff for uni until my 4th semester begins next February. Since I’m quite busy with writing my essays I don’t leave the house too often and just don’t feel like putting a lot of effort into my make up or changing it up. It’s not like I’m going anywhere special anyway. Basically I’ve loft applying one of the soft pinky nudes all over my lid and either using the chocolate-brown or the taupe shade in my crease. It takes me 2 minutes and I have a more defined eye look and ready to go out the door to run some errands or meet up with some friends.
When I first got my Makeup Revolution Flawless palette I reviewed it on the blog and declared my love for it. The Essential Mattes palette is just another amazing palette I really freaking love. It pretty much does contain all the matte shades you would ever need for a basic eye make up. You’ve got a few light pinky nude shades to choose from, you have some beige and browns including a chocolatey brown, a perfect taupe and a black (which is just super essential) Additionally it also includes 2 purple lilac shades and this gorgeous blue-green teal like color (sorry, I suck at describing colors), which gives you some shades to experiment with and add a hint of color.
The pigmentation of the shades is surprisingly really nice and they are just so perfectly easy to blend. If you apply your eye makeup in the morning the color intensity will fade a little throughout the day but it does last, so you won’t need any touch ups – at least I didn’t. I think for four pounds you really can’t go wrong with this and I would totally recommend this to anyone looking to get some matte shades!

Contouring alone can be quite tricky already but if you’re more on the pale side (like me) using the wrong shade can easily turn your attempt of defining your cheekbones into an orangey, muddy nightmare. Now, the NYX powder blush in the shade taupe is incredibly hyped up because apparently it’s the perfect shade to contour with for everyone, who is pale. Since I’m pretty pale and have a constantly growing love for the brand NYX anyway I decided it was time to finally test out the blush myself and see if it’s really worth the hype.
First off the packaging obviously isn’t the fanciest but NYX is a high street brand and as long as you get good quality for a reasonable price I don’t mind the packaging too much. It’s still quite handy for travelling as it’s not too chunky. And in the case of this blush the price is pretty much unbeatable.
One big plus I absolutely love about this blush is that’s it’s not that pigmented. If you contour, it can sometimes be very easy to go over the top but then having to go back trying to blend everything out can take forever and be very annoying. That’s exactly why I prefer using a product that is not too pigmented because it’s always easier to build up the contour then applying to much at once and having to blend blend blend.
The one thing that makes this blush most suitable for pale skin is the color though. Taupe is, like the name already suggest, a greyish cool toned matte taupe shade, which creates the perfect most natural looking shadow on your face. The fact that it does create such natural shadows really does make it a great option for contouring.
I’ve been using this to contour for a few weeks now and I can honestly say it’s worth the hype. If you’re pale and are looking for an affordable yet good product to contour with this is the one you should go for. I find myself reaching for this all the time!
Have you tried this blush? What are your thoughts on it?

I’ve mentioned several times before how much of a lipstick lover I am and there’s one brand in particular which I have been dying to get my hands one and that’s without a doubt Tom Ford lipsticks. They are the most luxurious beautiful little things ever but unfortunately their price tag is not so little. In fact, it’s quite the opposite with a whooping 47€ over here. A bit crazy, right? But even that price tag couldn’t keep me away (after a few months of consideration) and I used a bit of my Christmas money to finally buy one.
Now my friends have declared me for totally insane for spending so much money on a lipstick. I just wish I had a beauty blogger bestie I could text like every day and talk to about everything make up related as my friends in real life just can’t seem to understand my passion and often make me feel a little judged when splurging out on an expensive make up item. Anyway… Getting totally off topic here!
Back to the stunning Tom Ford lipstick. So shortly after Christmas, while I was in London, I went to the big Selfridges over there to look at all the beautiful Tom Ford make up items. It was so hard to pick out a lipstick but I eventually decided to go with Indian Rose. If you’ve read my blog before you know how much I’m into a bold lip, which is why I’m actually a tad surprised by myself that I went for such a neutral dark pink shade.
As for the packaging I don’t think I need to say much. You can see for yourself how pretty it is. Now on to the actual lipstick. Indian Rose is a beautiful dusky/ mauve kind of pink. I would almost describe it as a your lips but better shade. It applies so smooth, it’s an actual dream. I’m just in love with the texture of the lipstick because it’s just so soft and velvety. Another plus is how incredibly moisturizing it feels on the lips, which makes it so comfortable to wear. The lipstick lasts quite a few hours but unfortunately it doesn’t last much longer than you average much cheaper lipstick. Nonetheless this is just a stunning lip color I know for sure I’ll be getting a lot of use out of!
Here’s a swatch for you and how it looks on my lips:
Although Tom Ford has some amazingly bold lip colors in his range I’m actually really happy with the choice I made by going for a more neutral and quiet shade, which I think looks just as beautiful. I think this is such a great color that matches with so many things and will be suited for so many different occasions. All I can say is that I’m in love and this might become one of my absolute favorite lipsticks.
Have you tried any of the Tom Ford lipsticks? Which one is your favorite?
Now I’ve been loving smoothies for the longest time and have been wishing for a smoothie blender for months now. I feel like a blender is not the kind of thing I would usually buy for myself, so I was beyond happy when I found out that Santa had stopped by and put one under the tree for me!
Ever since Christmas I’ve been experimenting around and blending everything editable that you could possibly put in a smoothie together. There’s one smoothie I’ve been loving as a quick and easy breakfast though. It’s a super simple recipe but I still want to share it with you guys anyway.
Basically what I do is take a handful of frozen blueberries (they don’t have to be frozen but this way your smoothie is instantly cold) chop up a banana, add some natural low fat yoghurt and sprinkle some cereal on top. Then I blend everything together and there’s my breakfast.
I absolutely love blueberries and bananas and I think both fruits go well together. I add a bit of yoghurt because for one I just love yoghurt and it makes my smoothie a bit more creamier. As I’ve mentioned before I’m the pickiest eater ever but I love cereal, so since I’d run out of granola I decided to add a bit of my Kellogg’s Special K to my smoothie. Obviously this is an optional step you don’t have to do, but I love it.
If you think the consistency of the smoothie is to thick you can always add a bit of milk. But basically this has been one of my go to breakfasts lately! It’s soooo good.
If you have any amazing smoothie recipes make sure to link me up with it as I’m trying out something different all the time!

Milani is a brand I’ve been dying to try out because of their baked blushes, which look absolutely stunning. They must be one of the prettiest blushes I’ve ever seen in the drugstore beauty world! Seriously, just look at them! How freaking gorgeous are they?
I’ve been seeing these little stunners all over Instagram and I have to admit their pretty design is the one thing that made me get one myself. Don’t judge! I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s attracted to sparkly and shiny things like a moth to light.
Looking through the different shades I went for Corallina, which is the most gorgeous coral shade, as the name already suggests. It is incredibly pigmented and adds the most beautiful orangey coral glow to your cheeks! However, it’s not your typical coral because it’s quite vibrant and intense compared to the usually subtle coral I own. I love how this includes the most stunning golden glitter but once applied to your cheeks it blends away really nicely and gives you more of a natural finish. It really gives you that glow from within and kind of lights up your whole complexion.
I’m absolutely blown away by this blush and I now know that it doesn’t just look just pretty in the packaging but it’s also an amazing product! I’m pretty sure that I’ll soon be buying more shades as I’m seriously in love with this one.
Have you tried any of the Milani Baked Blushes? Do you have any recommendations which shade I should try next?
NYX is a brand I’ve been mentioning on my blog more and more frequently as I’ve been trying out and loving more and more of their products. Obviously my best friend knows this as well, which is why she was so kind to get me two more of their wonderful products for Christmas, one being a palette and one being a lip pencil.
She gave them two me right before we took off for London or actually more like while we were on our way to London, so I’ve had some time to try them out while I was there.
First let’s talk about this pretty little palette. It’s the Love in Florence palette in the shade 05 Sunsets with Sophia (how very fitting). You get five lovely shades with this stunner and I think each shade is equally gorgeous and they all really compliment each other. It’s nice that you get some more nude and bronzed shades for a more neutral look but it also includes a sparkling black if you want to go for something a bit more dramatic! While in London I’ve been using this for a very neutral but still shimmery eye look and it’s lasted pretty well throughout the day.
The other item she got me is this Jumbo Lip Pencil in the shade 708 Iced Mocha. I have to admit when I first unwrapped this I thought it was an eye pencil due to the color and because they look exactly the same except for the fact that they come in a white packaging. However, this is a lip pencil even though this isn’t a shade I would chose for my lips, to be honest. The texture is incredibly similar to their eye pencils, so basically you can use them for your lips but you can use them just as well for your eyes. I did try this on my lips and once blended it actually looks really cool but it’s definitely a shade I would prefer using in summer as it gives this bronzed glow once applied.
Just like every other NYX product I’ve tried so far I love these and I have yet to find a product by them that I dislike.
What do you think of NYX as a brand? Any products you would recommend? Anything you’re not so keen on?
