Palette Lovin’

It’s pretty safe to say I’m a lover of palettes! Palettes are just awesome. You get a wide variety of different shades all in one little box, that you can take with you wherever you go. Imagine you would have to travel somewhere and could only bring singular eyeshadows. The amount of eyeshadows you’d have to take.. yeah let’s not get into that.

Now there’s one palette in particular, that I’ve been obsessing over. It’s the Makeup Revolution Ultra 32 Eyeshadows Flawless palette. I know, there’s been a lot of reviews of this palette floating around the blogosphere lately but I’ve been loving this palette so much I just really wanted to write my own. Sorry!

IMG_0881

I think in the UK you can get this for around 8 pounds and I think I paid around 10€ or maybe 12€, when I ordered it from their website, because they do ship internationally.  I think the incredibly affordable price is one plus already, and it’s one of the reasons I needed to try this because most of my palettes are high end so  was really curious how this would compare. But of course that wasn’t the only thing. When I saw the shades online I thought they all looked incredibly gorgeous and I couldn’t spot a single shade I wouldn’t wear.

IMG_0882

Now that I actually have it in front of me, I still think the same thing. There’s not a single eyeshadow in this palette I won’t get any use out of. They’re all beautiful shades. The palette actually offers quite the wide variety as it includes warm nudes, soft bronzed shades, stunning metallics as well as mattes and all you need for a smokey eye. One of my favorite things about this palette is how it includes nude shades, so it’s perfect for a natural every day look but it has a lot of darker shades that are perfect for a smokey eye and more of a nighttime look. Plus it also includes shades as navy blue, a dark smokey green and coppery reds, which I quite like as you can experiment a bit with those.

IMG_0883

The shades in general all match together so well and I think it’s the perfect palette for fall and winter due to the colors it includes. I’m especially impressed with the metallics considering how incredibly pigmented they are. The mattes in this palette aren’t my favorites as they aren’t as pigmented and some of them don’t really show up that much on my eyelids. However that only includes about 3 shades. The rest of the palette is almost flawless to me.

IMG_0888

I’m really impressed with the high quality (apart from some of the matte shades) and I’ve been using this palette on a daily basis. I just love how it’s so versatile and you can do everything from a plain to a glittery party look. I can definitely recommend this palette and it’s one of my absolute favorites at the moment.

Have you tried any of the Makeup Revolution palettes? Which one should I get next?

What’s On My Face: Lazy Sundays

Hello! Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I sure did! I met up with my best friend and we started planning on what we could do on New Year’s Eve and we have something in mind and we’ve already looked up some flights but everything is kind of vague at the moment so fingers crossed everything will work out!

IMG_3147

Anyway… sadly it’s already Sunday and the weekend is coming to an end. This Sunday is just one of those lazy ones for me. All I’m doing is just chilling and spending some time with my family! We actually started baking some Christmas cookies this morning. So as you might be able to guess from the title of this post today is all about a lazy Sunday minimal makeup looks.

IMG_0855-0

As a base I prefer a light BB cream and one of my favorites is the Body Shop one. Obviously I’m going to need some concealer to cover up any dark circles and blemishes I might have. And last but not least I set everything off with a powder. There’s totally no need for contouring but since I’m definitely on the pale side I like to use just a bit of blush  to add a tiny bit of color to my face. For this I love to use the light pink shade from my Guerlain blush duo in 02 Chic Pink.

IMG_0856

I keep my eyes very natural, so all I do is take a bit of my Mac eyeshadow in Shroom and dust it all over my lids. Shroom is a super light shimmery pearl kind of shade. I suck at describing. Sorry! It’s not one of my strengths. But as you can see from the photo it is very well loved. To add just a bit of definition to my eyes I use a black kohl liner and gently apply it along my lash line. To finish everything off I apply some mascara. The one I’m using here is from the Born Pretty Store and I love how much length it adds to my lashes. Last but not least I apply some lip balm and that’s the finished look.

What do you like to use for a minimal makeup look?

Love for Glitter – The Born Pretty Store Trio Eyeshadow Palette *

When the lovely people from the Born Pretty Store contacted me on whether I wanted to review some of their products I have to admit I was quite excited. I’ve heard of the brand before as they are quite known for their nail art supplies. I totally suck when it comes to doing my nails but the Born Pretty Store also offers a wide variety of makeup, jewelry and other accessories, so there’s definitely something for everyone.

While browsing their website I came across this glittery eyeshadow trio and it immediately reminded me of Christmas and the holidays. I’m such a sucker for glittery things, so it’s only naturally I opted for this one.

IMG_0829.JPG

IMG_0828.JPG

This little palette contains a black shade, a beautiful shimmery bronzed shade (quite possibly my favorite) and a lovely very glittery silver shade. All of the shades contain golden shimmer particles for a sparkling effect, which I think is just perfect for the holiday season or New Year’s Eve. December is just the perfect time to go all out when it comes to glitter and sparkles, don’t you think?

IMG_0831.JPG

Now, I really love the texture as its so soft and silky, which makes it so easy to apply! When it comes to eyeshadows my biggest pet peeve is when they are too chalky but these are quite creamy.  All three shadows are quite pigmented, though the bronzed shade is definitely the most pigmented.

IMG_0820-0.JPG

IMG_0832-0.JPG

I think this is just the perfect little trio for everyone that loves a bit of a sparkle. The black and silver shades are perfect for creating a glittery smokey eye and the bronzed shade is so beautiful and perfect if you want more of a softer and warm approach maybe. First I was a little afraid that the glitter particles might move around, because I’ve had some bad experiences with glitter eyeshadow before but luckily these stay put and don’t move around. After all I only want my eyes to make a sparkling statement and not my entire face to look like a disco ball, right?

I can definitely see myself getting a lot of use out of these once December rolls around but then again you can never go wrong with a little bit of glitter, so basically this will always come in handy for a night out or a special occasion that could use a bit of a sparkle.

If you’d like to check out the Born Pretty Store website you can do that here. I also have a little coupon code for you if you decide to order anything. Just type in WEEG10 for 10% off your order:)

Thanks so much for reading! Hope you have great weekend:)

Cold Days. Dark Lips – Makeup Revolution Lipstick in Vamp

Hey lovelies !
Happy Friday! I can’t express my happiness about this week finally being over. I had to give a presentation and lead a discussion on American politics and well basically it’s just been a really busy week and I’m glad I’m finally getting a bit of a break. I’m really excited as I’m finally going to see my best friend again and I haven’t seen her in almost a month. But enough of me rambling now.

Today’s post is about dark lips! Now the darkest I’ve ever gone is Mac Diva, which is a pretty dark red but not nearly as dark as many other lipsticks out there. I’ve always really loved the look of pale skin and a really dark lip. I don’t really know why. Maybe it’s because of the contrast. So when I recently went on the Makeup Revolution website and spotted their super affordable lipsticks I decided it was finally time to bare it all and get a really dark one. One of the shades I got was Vamp, which is a super dark purple, that looks almost black in the bullet.

IMG_0799.JPG

IMG_0802.JPG
Since they are so super affordable I thought why not just try it out and if I feel like it’s not for me it’s not like I’ve wasted a big amount of money. So even though it’s not going to become one of my every staples I’m really into this lipstick. I love the really dark purple and it has a really nice velvety but still a bit glossy finish. I think for a shade this dark I prefer them to be a bit more on the glossy side because matte, I feel, would be a bit too extreme for me.

IMG_0807.JPG

IMG_0805.JPG
In general, I’m really loving this lipstick at the moment. I love the look it gives even though it is quite dark but I feel like fall and winter are the perfect seasons for a shade this dark.

Additionally it feels quite nice on the lips and it’s pretty long lasting as well. So, if you’re like me and you’ve always wanted to try a really dark lip look but weren’t brave enough so far give this one a go.

What is your opinion on really dark lips? Love ’em or hate ’em?

#TBT: My First Ever Red Lipstick

Hello lovelies!

It’s Thursday, which means we’re only one day away from the weekend! Hallelujah! Now, I don’t know about you but I like to browse through old pictures every now and then and do a bit of reminiscing the good old times. Haha. So I thought why not go back a few years and share with you my first ever red lipstick. This might even be my first lipstick ever. I’m not entirely sure but it’s definitely one of my first lipsticks. I bought this little beauty in 2009 at the young age of 14. Why do I still remember that? Well, it was a very special moment for me.

I had bought this bright red dress for Christmas and I really wanted a red lipstick to go with it and when I wore my dress with my red lipstick that Christmas day I felt so grown up. Obviously I totally wasn’t and I can’t believe how young I actually was but back then I just felt so mature and grown up.

So this is it. My first ever red lipstick.

IMG_0771 IMG_0774IMG_0773

Back then I probably only owned Maybelline makeup. I still love that brand today and that’s probably because I still remember my first mascara ever to be a Maybelline one. And they just have amazing products. Oh and when I was 14, so 5 years ago, most of the beauty bloggers on YouTube just started out and if I’m being honest I barely ever spend any time on a computer. So I barely knew about all the high end makeup and if I’m being honest here I definitely wouldn’t have needed something like a Chanel lipstick at that age anyway.

So the shade I bought is 530 in Fatal Red. I quite like the name. It sounds so fierce. As you will be able to tell form the swatch it’s quite a bold and loud red but I thought it would go perfectly well with my dress.

IMG_0776

And now here’s a picture of 14 year old, braces wearing 2009 and me. When I look at it now I haven’t even changed that much. My hair got quite longer and thank God the braces are gone. This definitely isn’t one of my best outfits but back then I thought I’d looked awesome, so that’s what matters I guess. I actually don’t even look like 14. More like 16.

I hope you enjoyed this little bag to the past post! What was you first ever red lipstick?

Thanks so much for reading!

Makeup Revolution Haul & First Impressions

Hey Lovelies!

I hope you had a lovely weekend and made it through Monday! I don’t know about you but my Monday seemed to drag on and on and wouldn’t end. Thank God that’s over now!

Now if you happen to be one of my lovely Twitter and or Instagram followers you might have seen that my Makeup Revolution order came in last Saturday morning and let me tell you I was quite ecstatic. Makeup Revolution is a brand from the UK and is based in London, I think. For some reason most of the bloggers I follow on Twitter are located in the UK and they kept raving about this brand as they apparently have very good quality products, which are incredibly affordable. Naturally I just had to try some of their products but since I don’t know when I’m going back to the UK next (there’s a slight chance I might go in December but I didn’t want to rely on that) I made a little order only having having discovered they actually ship world wide.

I’m quite impressed how fast it I received it! Now I’ve been playing around with all the items every day since receiving on Saturday and I thought I’d do a little haul and first impressions. Obviously I can’t give a proper review yet as I’ve only had these products for around 4 days. If you want an in-depth review of any of these things just let me know. But without further ado let’s see what I got.

IMG_0742

Flawless Pallette

IMG_0743

IMG_0748

This beauty is definitely one of my favorites from my little order. It contains 32 eyeshadows ranging from matte ones to shimmery. Almost all of them are incredibly pigmented and quite long-lasting so far. I’ve used different shades for my eye makeup every day for the last couple of days and it’s always lasted until the end of the day, which is quite impressive considering how affordable these palettes are.

Blushing Hearts Peachy Keen Heart

IMG_0752

How gorgeous is this? Seriously though isn’t this so freaking pretty? I know these look a lot like the Too Faced heart shaped blushers, which I’ve had my eye on for ages but they are incredibly hard to get over here and super expensive, so I thought why not give this one a go. It looks just as beautiful. Having never tried the Too Faced one I obviously can’t compare the two but I can give you my thoughts on this one. I’ve been very into peach blushes recently, which is why I went for the peachy option and so far I’m loving it. It adds the most gorgeous shimmery peachy slightly pink kind of glow to your cheeks.

The One Blush Stick in Matte Malibu and Dream & Focus &Fix Liquid Concealer

IMG_0755

I’ve read so many reviews of these blush sticks and how they are one of the best things ever. I thought they’d probably be good for contouring, which is why I chose the Matte Malibu one for a contour and the Dream one, which is quite sheer, for highlighting. So far I’m really impressed with them and I have a feeling they are going to last me ages as I only ever need a tiny amount.

I’ve ran out of my concealer and couldn’t find a drugstore shade over here that was light enough. I thought I’d give this one a try and it’s okay so far. I don’t think this will become a staple one but it’s definitely okay.

Makeup Revolution Lipsticks

IMG_0760

As you can tell from the picture I didn’t buy the most wearable shades, but that’s just what I do. I mean, I once spend 18 bucks on a glittery light blue Mac lip gloss, that according to my friends and family made me look like a corpse. I admit it wasn’t the best look but it sure was different. Anyway… I’m rambling. I just like collecting lipstick shades that are very unique. I probably won’t be wearing the green one to class any time soon but who knows. I’m sure it will come in quite handy one day. So the shades I got are Vamp, Blackheart, Serpent and Rebel with a Cause. Vamp and Blackheart are to very similar incredibly dark purples. I can already see myself wearing these despite them being so dark. Serpent is green and green is my favorite color, so naturally I had to buy it. IT’S GREEN! Rebel with a Cause is a pinky purpely berry kind of shade. All four are very pigmented and I’m excited to try them out more.

So this already rounds off my little haul. I’ve only had these products for four days but so far I don’t regret buying any of these and I’m quite happy with the products I chose to order. Do you own any Makeup Revolution products yet? What do you think of the hype?

Thanks for reading!

Nude Perfection For Lazy Lip Days

If your a lip product addict I’m sure you’re familiar with those days when you really want to wear a lipstick or something but you just can’t be bothered with the effort. Even if you’re not a lip product addict, you probably know what I’m talking about. Sometimes you just don’t feel like prepping your lips with balm and then carefully line them with a lipliner, then apply your lipstick and maybe if you’re into gloss you might even top it all off with a lip gloss! Sometimes you just want to apply something real quick and be done without having to worry about your lipstick emphasising dry patches or staining or you name it.

IMG_0667

IMG_0668

While I’m definitely a lover of a bold lip I like to keep it natural a lot as well. Especially on days when I’m not doing much besides maybe attending a lecture or something I’m really into nudes. Now I’ve found the perfect product for my lazy lip days: The Maybelliner Color Drama  in Nude Perfection.

I think the name is pretty  much on point and says it all. The shade is more of a darker nude but I definitely prefer those to the lighter ones as they go better with my complexion, so for me this is definitely a perfect shade of nude. The best thing though is that this is so super easy to apply. It literally takes a few seconds to apply and it’s so long lasting. Plus it feels so nice and moisturizing on the lips! When it comes to lip liners and matte lipstick I’m always a bit worried that they are too drying but this one is not drying at all which is a big plus.

All in all I’m just really loving this product at the moment as it ticks off all the boxes. It’s long lasting, non drying, matte gorgeous nude shade and it’s just perfect for those lazy days when I can’t be bothered with all the other stuff.

So have you tried one of the color dramas yet? What are your thoughts? Which is your favorite?
